Lore: The 112 was originally crafted by the “Nurturers of the High Spires,” a sect of the Faith of Intayra who believed that the morning star’s light was a mother’s gaze. They realized that when an individual feels truly cared for, their destiny becomes brighter and more resilient. These items are often gifted to young travelers by their elders or exchanged between soul-bonded companions. In Andean society, wearing a 112 is a public declaration that one’s magic is rooted in the protection and upliftment of others.
Appearance: The item is a pair of soft, knitted fingerless gloves made from “Cloud-Wool” dyed a deep indigo. Stitched into the palms in shimmering silver thread are the constellations of the “Guardian’s Embrace.” At the center of each palm sits a small, polished cabochon of Heart-Amber, which pulses with a rhythmic, golden light that synchronizes with the heartbeat of the wearer. When the wearer touches an ally, the silver threads glow, and a faint scent of sun-warmed lavender fills the air.

Passives Magic
- The Pulse of Presence: While wearing the 112, the user can sense the general emotional state and physical well-being of any ally within 30 feet. They perceive this as a soft “tugging” on their own heart; a fast pulse indicates fear, while a heavy one indicates exhaustion. This grants a minor bonus to Insight checks made to comfort or read the needs of friends.
- Starlight Shelter: As long as the user is within 5 feet of an ally, that ally receives a minor bonus to Saving Throws against Fear. The user’s affectionate aura acts as a “Secondary Star,” anchoring the ally’s spirit against the cold “Ugliness” of the world.
- Kindred Glow: Whenever the user performs a selfless act (such as giving away their last ration or taking a blow for a friend), the Heart-Amber flares. This grants the user a small amount of Temporary Hit Points or a minor boost to their next social roll, roleplayed as the universe rewarding their kindness.
Activatable Magics
- The Healing Touch of Intayra: As an action, the user can place their gloved hands on a wounded or weary ally. The Heart-Amber transfers a portion of the user’s own vitality to the target, roleplayed as a warm, golden fluid flowing through the silver threads. This stabilizes the target and removes one “Minor Fatigue” or “Minor Stress” condition.
- Shared Horizon: Once per day, the user can link their vision with an ally they deeply care for. For one minute, both individuals perceive the world through a shimmering “Divined” lens, seeing the safest paths and hidden dangers as though they were moving as a single soul.

In the world of Saṃsāra, the Astrology and Divination 112 of the Affectionate is a symbol of devotion and care. These items are rarely found in standard gear shops; instead, they are traded in places that value the “Aesthetic” and “Affectionate” bonds of Andean culture.
1. The Loom of Kindred Hearts (Andean Artisan Districts)
Located in the upper terraces of Andean where the air is sweet with lavender, these boutiques specialize in “Soul-Bonded” apparel.
- The Experience: The shop is quiet, filled with the soft clicking of needles and the hum of weaving wheels. You don’t just “buy” a 112 here; the shopkeeper—often a high-priestess of the Faith of Intayra—must witness a genuine act of affection or a shared story between the buyer and their intended recipient before finalizing the sale.
- Buying/Selling: They sell only new, artisan-crafted gloves. They rarely buy used items unless they carry a significant “Positive Legacy” from a well-known hero or caregiver.
- Cost: 65 to 85 Gold Pieces. The price reflects the high quality of the Cloud-Wool and the purity of the Heart-Amber.
2. The Temple Charity Exchange (Faith of Intayra Outposts)
Found within the grand temples of Andean or in small shrines throughout the 73 Islands.
- The Experience: These are humble rooms where items are gifted or sold to fund temple orphanages. The 112s here are often donated by retired adventurers or families whose loved ones have passed on.
- Buying/Selling: These shops function more as a community trust. You can “buy” a 112 with a donation, or sell one for a modest sum to help the temple. They prioritize the item going to those who genuinely need the “Starlight Shelter.”
- Cost: 30 to 50 Gold Pieces. The lower cost is a reflection of the temple’s desire to see the item used for the greater good.
3. The Silk & Starlight Curio (Abbevillian Trade Hubs)
Located in the bustling markets of Abbeville where Andean goods are imported for the elite.
- The Experience: A high-end, exotic shop that smells of expensive incense and salt-air. The 112 is sold as a “luxury protective charm” for the wealthy.
- Buying/Selling: These merchants are strictly business. They will buy a used 112 for around 20 Gold Pieces and resell it at a significant markup. They care more about the silver-thread’s condition than the “emotional resonance.”
- Cost: 95 to 110 Gold Pieces. You pay a premium for the convenience of buying an Andean specialty outside of its home islands.
Selling the Item (User to Merchant)
- To a Fellow Caregiver: In the field, an Affectionate avatar might trade these gloves for a week’s worth of medicinal supplies or a promise of protection for a village, valuing the life saved over the coin gained.
- Scrap Value: If the wool is ruined, the Heart-Amber can be pried out and sold to an alchemist for 12 Gold Pieces to be ground into “Soothing Salves.”
In the world of Saṃsāra, roleplaying with the Astrology and Divination 112 of the Affectionate centers on Empathic Protection. The user doesn’t just fight or defend; they act as the emotional and spiritual anchor for their “Kindred.” Success is roleplayed as the triumph of a shared bond over the cold isolation of the world.
Roleplay in Defense
In Safe or Somewhat Safe areas, defense is roleplayed as Preemptive Comfort. The user roleplays noticing a friend’s discomfort before they even speak. They describe the Pulse of Presence as a warm hum in their palms, guiding them to offer a steadying hand or a kind word. The defense here is preventing social or emotional “Ugliness” from taking root, roleplaying an atmosphere of such profound safety that hostility feels out of place.
In Unsafe or Deathly areas, defense is roleplayed as The Aegis of Devotion. When an ally is targeted by a terrifying foe, the user roleplays the Starlight Shelter. They describe themselves stepping into the path of the “Ugly” influence, their Heart-Amber pulsing a defiant golden-red. They roleplay that their affection creates a literal “warmth” that melts away the icy fingers of magical fear. The defense is roleplayed as “Holding the Line for the Ones I Love.”
Roleplay in Offense
Offense with the 112 is roleplayed as Selfless Empowerment. The user rarely strikes for their own glory; they strike to open a path for their “Heart-Bound” companions.
- Vitality Transfer (Healing Touch of Intayra): The user roleplays the offense as a desperate, loving sacrifice. They describe themselves gripping an ally’s hand as silver light surges between them. They roleplay taking on the ally’s “Heavy Heart” so the ally can deliver the finishing blow. The offense is roleplayed as “Fueling the Hero’s Strike.”
- Coordinated Strike (Shared Horizon): The user roleplays a moment of perfect, wordless understanding. They describe their vision and their ally’s vision merging into one. They roleplay seeing the “Weak Points” of an enemy through their friend’s eyes, guiding their companion’s blade with a gentle push or a shouted word of encouragement.
- The Flare of Kindness (Kindred Glow): The user roleplays an aggressive act of protection. When they take a hit meant for someone else, they describe the Heart-Amber erupting in a blinding flare of “Righteous Affection.” They roleplay that the enemy is momentarily staggered by the sheer purity of the user’s devotion, allowing the party to counter-attack.
Environmental Impact on Usage
- In the Crowded Markets of Abbeville (Safe): The roleplay is The Quiet Guardian. The user roleplays weaving through the crowd, keeping a constant “Empathic Tether” on their friends. Their defense is roleplayed as preventing the party from being separated or socially manipulated by sensing the “dishonest pulse” of a con artist.
- In the Darkened Jungles of the 73 Islands (Unsafe): The roleplay is The Warm Hearth. In the freezing damp of the jungle, the user roleplays their gloves as a source of physical heat. They describe the Starlight Shelter as a golden dome that keeps the predatory mists at bay. Their offense is roleplayed as “The Counter-Ambush,” sensing the fear of a hidden predator before it strikes.
- In the Void-Shadows of Ancient Ruins (Deathly): The roleplay becomes The Soul-Anchor. In places where the “Ugly” is so strong it tries to erase the self, the user roleplays focusing entirely on the pulse of their ally’s heart. They roleplay that as long as they hold their friend’s hand, neither of them can be lost to the void. Their defense is “Love as a Physical Constant.”
The Astrology and Divination 112 turns the avatar into a “Beacon of the Heart,” roleplaying the belief that the strongest magic in Saṃsāra is not found in the stars above, but in the hands that hold each other tight.

Perception of Activation:
User’s Perspective
- Sight: The silver threads on the palms begin to glow with a soft, pulsing luminescence. When touching an ally, the user sees a gentle golden tether connecting their heart to the target’s, shimmering like moonlight on water.
- Sound: The user hears a rhythmic, low-frequency hum that mirrors their own heartbeat. In moments of deep connection, this sound harmonizes with the heartbeat of the person they are touching, creating a “Dual-Tone” melody.
- Touch: The “Cloud-Wool” becomes remarkably soft, feeling like a warm, weightless mist against the skin. The Heart-Amber cabochon emits a steady, comforting heat—never burning, but providing the sensation of a warm hearth on a winter night.
- Smell: A prominent fragrance of “Sun-Warmed Lavender” and “Honeyed Milk” rises from the gloves, immediately inducing a state of relaxation and trust.
- Extra-Sensory: The user experiences Empathic Echo. They don’t just “see” an ally’s pain or fear; they feel it as a soft, manageable pressure in their own chest. This grants them an intuitive understanding of exactly what kind of comfort or protection the ally needs.
Observer’s Perspective
- Sight: The silver constellations on the indigo wool light up, casting a soothing blue-white glow on the user’s hands. The Heart-Amber pulses with a deep gold light that seems to “breathe” in time with the user.
- Sound: Those nearby hear a faint sound like the rustling of silk or the distant, peaceful chirping of Andean “Night-Cricks.”
- Touch: If an ally is touched by the user, they feel a sudden “Wave of Belonging” and a physical warmth that spreads from the point of contact to their core, easing muscle tension and chills.
- Extra-Sensory: Observers often feel a sudden reduction in their own aggression or anxiety. The 112 projects a “Domestic Aura,” making the immediate area feel less like a battlefield and more like a sanctuary.
Positives
- Emotional Stability: The item is a premier tool for maintaining party morale in “Deathly” environments where fear-based magic is prevalent.
- Non-Invasive Healing: Unlike medicinal salves that can be painful, the Healing Touch of Intayra provides stabilization through comfort, making it ideal for roleplaying gentle care.
- Insightful Support: The Pulse of Presence allows the user to act as a “Biological Radar” for the party’s health, often spotting injuries or exhaustion before the allies even realize they are flagging.
Negatives
- Empathic Backlash: Because the user “feels” the ally’s state, witnessing an ally suffer a massive “Ugly” trauma can cause the user to take a minor amount of mental stress or fatigue themselves.
- Luminescence: The silver glow is difficult to suppress, making it a liability in stealth missions where the party must remain completely unseen.
- Emotional Exhaustion: Using the Shared Horizon or Vitality Transfer too frequently can leave the user feeling “spiritually hollow” or sleepy until they have had a chance to rest.
Recipe: The Kindred Weaver’s Embrace (Model 112)
Materials Needed
- Four Hanks of Andean Cloud-Wool: Shorn from sheep raised in the high-altitude mists of Andean to ensure the fibers are light and hollow.
- Two Polished Heart-Amber Cabochons: These must be warm to the touch even before being worked; they act as the “Heart-Center” of the divination magic.
- Ten Yards of Spun Silver-Thread: Infused with moonlight to conduct the user’s empathic pulses throughout the garment.
- One Vial of Lavender and Honey Extract: For the sensory priming of the wool.
- Indigo Root Dye: To achieve the “Midnight Sky” coloration that allows the silver constellations to pop.
Tools Required
- Twin Andean Knitting Needles: Carved from smoothed cedar or bone, used to weave the “Cloud-Wool” without snapping the delicate fibers.
- Silver-Thread Needle: A fine, curved needle for embroidering the “Guardian’s Embrace” constellations into the palms.
- Amber-Setting Tweezers: For precisely mounting the Heart-Amber into the center of the silver-work.
- Scent-Infusion Chamber: A small, sealed wooden box used to permeate the wool with lavender and honey.
- Tension Rack: To hold the gloves steady while the silver-thread is being “Heart-Synced.”
Skill Requirements
- Tier 1 Artisan Weaving/Knitting: Proficiency in creating durable but soft garments that do not restrict finger movement.
- Tier 1 Empathic Divination: The ability to “project” one’s own feelings of affection into the materials during the crafting process.
- Basic Alchemical Finishing: Knowledge of how to bind a scent to fabric so it flares when the item is activated.
- The Nurturer’s Breath: A breathing technique used during the final stitch to “awake” the Heart-Amber’s pulse.
Crafting Steps
- Dyeing the Wool: Submerge the Cloud-Wool in the indigo dye. As it dries, the crafter must hum a song of comfort to set the emotional foundation of the material.
- The Scent Priming: Place the dried wool into the infusion chamber with the lavender and honey. Leave it for a full night cycle to ensure the scent is locked into the fibers.
- Knitting the Base: Knit the indigo wool into fingerless gloves. The stitch must be tight enough to be durable but loose enough to feel like “mist” against the skin.
- Embroidering the Guardian: Using the silver-thread, stitch the “Guardian’s Embrace” constellation onto the palms. Every stitch must be made with the thought of a specific person the crafter wishes to protect.
- The Amber Mount: Using the tweezers, set the Heart-Amber cabochon into the center of the silver constellation. Secure it with a “Heart-Knot” made of silver-thread.
- The Pulse Synchronization: The crafter must hold the gloves in their hands and meditate until their own heartbeat matches the faint golden flickering of the amber.
- The Silver-Link Ritual: Drag a finger along the silver-threads from the wrist to the fingertips, “awakening” the Pulse of Presence passive. The threads should glow a soft white.
- The Final Breath: Hold the gloves to your chest and exhale a warm breath onto the amber. If successful, the scent of lavender will flare, and the Heart-Amber will begin its steady, rhythmic golden pulse.
Weaver’s Weft and Twin Flames of Void
In the eon when the stars were yet young and spoke in audible hums to the dwellers of the 73 Islands, there lived two sisters of the High Spires, Elara and Miri. It is written in the “Songs of the Unseen Thread” that while Elara possessed the sharp eye of a navigator, Miri possessed the “Hollow-Heart”—a rare capacity to feel the cold of another’s shadow as if it were her own.
When the Great Breath brought a season of “Ice-Soul,” a darkness that froze not the skin but the spirit, Elara was called to sail into the uncharted “Wastes of Silence.” Miri, fearing the isolation would wither her sister’s courage, took the wool of the mist-sheep and began to knit. She infused each loop with the Affectionate heat of her own memories.
As Elara sailed, she wore the 112s, and the Heart-Amber upon her palms began to glow. The story tells that when Elara was trapped in the “Mire of Despair,” where the stars themselves seemed to go out, she felt a rhythmic thrumming against her skin. It was the Pulse of Presence. Thousands of leagues away, Miri sat by a hearth, clutching her own chest and sending her vitality through the silver threads of the aether.
Through the Shared Horizon, Elara did not see the black waves of the Mire; she saw the golden firelight of her sister’s home. She felt the Starlight Shelter wrap around her like a physical cloak, melting the “Ugly” frost of the Void. With the Healing Touch of Intayra, Elara revived her flagging crew, roleplaying the warmth of a mother’s touch until their spirits reignited like forge-fires.
When Elara finally returned, her ship laden with the “Seeds of the Morning Star,” she found Miri pale and thin, having given so much of her own essence through the gloves to keep her sister anchored. But as they embraced, the Heart-Amber flared with such intensity that the entire High Spire was bathed in a golden light that lasted for forty days. The Kindred Glow had transformed their individual spirits into a single, unbreakable sun.
The Moral of the Story: No distance is too vast for the heart that refuses to let go; for while a single star may be swallowed by the night, the warmth of a shared bond is a fire that the darkness cannot comprehend.
