The Lion’s Roar might be found in a private collection or auctioned among elite patrons. These halls boast elaborate showcases and only sell such items to renowned adventurers, scholars, or military leaders.

Here, the Lion’s Roar may be offered as part of a high-stakes trade or shady deal, with secrecy and anonymity guaranteed.
- Cost: 1,000 to 1,200 gold pieces. The price is lower due to the lack of certification and the potential risks of acquisition. However, buyers must negotiate and navigate complex dealings.
- Temple of Sound and Fury

A high-ranking priest may grant access to such weapons as a boon to proven champions of their faith. The temple would treat the item as an offering from the gods, with the weapon available only after rigorous trials.

Only the wealthiest patrons or distinguished warriors might purchase it from the royal stockpile, often through royal favor or diplomatic exchanges.

Tale of the Thunderous Claw
Long ago, in days that none recall and places no man has walked, there was the lion that was not a lion, for it held the voice of storms and the breath of gods. It walked not as beasts do but upon the clouds, and its roar brought the mountains to their knees. The skies feared its voice, and the earth trembled when it spoke, for its roar was the sound that shaped the world.
The lion had no name, or if it did, none knew it, for its name was lost to the winds. In the time before men, it wandered the land that was neither land nor sky, and it watched the world grow. It saw the rise of beings who built and broke, who loved and warred, but never did the lion walk among them. For it was alone in its power, and none could approach it without feeling the weight of the heavens pressing down upon their hearts.
But there came a day when a great shadow crept across the land. This shadow had no shape, no form that the eye could see, but it devoured the light and swallowed the songs of the world. The shadow’s hunger knew no bounds, and it spread across the earth, turning day into endless night.
The lion roared, and the shadow fled, but only for a time. Again, the lion roared, louder than before, and the clouds broke asunder, and the seas boiled. But the shadow returned, ever hungrier, and the lion grew weary, for its voice alone could not drive the darkness away forever.
In that time, the sky spoke to the lion. It whispered words in a tongue that was old even then, and the lion listened. “Take your roar,” said the sky, “and place it in the form of man. Let it be a gift to those who walk beneath us, so that they may know power, and that power may be their strength when the shadow comes again.”
And so, the lion took its mighty voice and its fearsome power and bound it into a claw made of the metals of stars. The claw was forged in the fires of forgotten mountains and cooled in the rivers of dreams. Upon it, the lion placed its roar, and the roar became silent, though it could still be felt in the air, trembling with untold might.
The lion gave this claw to the first who was worthy. This one was not man, nor beast, but a creature of many forms—a Gryphaleosnake, a being whose body knew the sky, the earth, and the sea. The Gryphaleosnake took the claw, and when it clenched its forelimb, the roar of the lion returned, stronger than ever. The mountains shook, the shadow fled once more, and the world was safe—for a time.
But the story does not end here. For the Gryphaleosnake, proud of its power, grew reckless. It used the claw not only to protect but to conquer, to make others bend beneath the weight of the lion’s roar. Its heart grew hard, and the roar, once pure, turned into a thing of fear. Those who once looked upon the Gryphaleosnake with awe now trembled in terror, for they could not stand against the sound that shattered mountains and broke armies.
In time, the shadow returned, but the Gryphaleosnake, lost in its pride, could not see it. The lion’s roar, bound in the claw, grew silent once more, for the roar no longer knew its purpose. The shadow consumed the land, and the Gryphaleosnake was cast into darkness, never to be seen again.
The claw, however, was not lost. It wandered through the ages, passing from hand to hand, but never again did it find one who could wield it as the lion intended. Some sought to use its power for war, others for peace, but all found that the roar, once unleashed, could not be controlled. And so, the claw became a thing of legend, feared as much as it was desired, until it was lost to the mists of time.
Moral of the Story: Power given without purpose can bring protection, but when wielded without wisdom, it becomes a burden too great for any to bear.
