Harmonious Strider 1029 of Infinite Grace

Lore: The Harmonious Strider 1029 was forged in a localized fracture of time where the “Land of Mystics” overlapped with the “Windweave Cluster.” An Isekai soul of Tier 5 standing gathered the kinetic memory of the Silent Striders, the basalt-grounded vows of the Amitabha pilgrims, and the endearing humility of Druze Mysticism. To provide the spark of life, they infused the item with the literal consumption of “Glow-in-the-Dark Stir-Fry” and “Mystical Insect Tacos,” turning the concept of nourishment into a permanent state of being. The number 1029 represents the perfect alignment of the 1,000 hidden paths of the horizon with the 29 failed attempts at achieving total spiritual resonance. It is a relic for those who understand that the ultimate journey requires both the speed of a predator and the heart of a clumsy saint.

Description: This singular artifact manifests as a Single Greave-Vanguard (a combined boot and shin-guard) crafted from deep-purple mountain-strider hide and reinforced with plates of shimmering, resin-coated basalt. Woven into its structure is a cord of Glimmer-moth silk that glows with an unsteady, flickering pulse of pale orange, soft pink, and vibrant neon-green. The “Gyre Sinew” is integrated as a high-tension lateral stay along the calf, humming with a low-frequency resonance. Aetherite crystals and unpolished glass stones are embedded into the basalt plates, emitting a constant, mesmerizing glow and a scent of sun-warmed stone and sautéed mystical herbs. Despite its multi-layered construction, it is a single physical object that fits perfectly onto a single leg.

Stats

  • Tier: 5
  • Rarity: Legendary
  • Slot: Feet (Physically covers the foot and lower leg, but occupies only the Feet slot)
  • Material: Basalt-infused Strider Hide, Aetherite-Reinforced Sinew, Prayer-Silk, Culinary Essence
  • Weight: 3.8 kg
  • Durability: 250/250 (Indestructible by non-magical means)

Skills Gained (While Openly Worn)

  • Omni-Path Proficiency: The wearer gains a +10 bonus to all Wisdom (Survival) and Intelligence (Investigation) checks related to navigation and tracking.
  • Clumsy Battlefield Dominance: The wearer’s movements are so unpredictable and “awkward” that they gain a +5 bonus to Charisma (Persuasion) and (Performance) checks to disarm or distract foes during social or martial encounters.
  • Master Fletching Logic: Even though worn on the feet, the “Kinetic Memory” of the bowstring allows the user to repair or string any ranged weapon in 1 minute instead of 10.

Passives Magic

  • Kinetic Horizon Gratitude: The avatar gains a permanent +20 foot bonus to movement speed. Every time they enter a new country or country-sized island, this bonus increases by an additional 10 feet for that day.
  • Ethereal Resilience: The Sky-tree Resin and beetle-wing essence render the wearer and the item completely immune to environmental damage, including extreme temperatures, pressure, and acidic mists.
  • Silent Radiant Presence: The avatar makes zero sound while moving, even on basalt or metal. Simultaneously, they emit a 10-meter aura of “Mystical Harmony” that grants allies a +2 bonus to all Charisma and Wisdom saving throws.
  • Mind’s Eye Compass: The embedded stones provide a constant, amber-glowing “Best Path” trajectory in the wearer’s vision, bypassing all non-god-tier illusions and traps.

Active Magics

  • Leap of the Shattered Veil (5/Day): Shouting “Amitabha!” while fumbling with the aetherite crystal allows the user to jump up to 500 feet in any direction. This jump can “ricochet” off thin air once, allowing for a mid-flight change of direction.
  • Tether of Endearing Vow (At-Will): As a reaction, the wearer can shoot a spectral strand of dripping silk up to 60 feet to anchor an ally. The target is pulled to the wearer’s location and healed for 20 HP through the “nourishing” energy of the silk.
  • The Harmonizer’s Ricochet (1/Day): The wearer stomps the ground, releasing a pulse of “silver fire” energy. The next ranged attack made by the avatar or an ally within 30 feet can bounce off up to five different surfaces, ignoring all cover (including total cover) if a path exists.
  • Celestial Feast Aura (1/Day): For 1 hour, the item glows with an intense, neon-green light. All party members within 30 feet gain +30 Temporary HP and a +5 bonus to Agility and Wisdom.

Targeting and Restoration of the Harmonious Strider 1029

The Harmonious Strider 1029 of the Infinite Grace is a single physical object, and as a Tier 5 Legendary item, it possesses a significant pool of health that must be depleted to suppress its magical functions. Because it is a consolidated item, targeting any part of the boot or the integrated bowstring stay affects the same singular health pool.

Item Hit Points To calculate the specific hit points of this artifact, the following formula is applied:

Item HP=(Avatar Maximum HP)+(Resilience×Tier)

Given its masterwork construction, the Harmonious Strider 1029 has a base Resilience of 20.

  • Total Item HP: The current avatar’s maximum health plus 100 (20 Resilience × 5 Tier).
  • Targeted AC: An attacker attempting to hit this item must overcome a Difficulty Class equal to the Avatar’s AC + 5 (Tier) + the roll of the avatar’s Tier Die (5d12). If the item is currently providing its own AC bonus, that is also added to the total.
  • Deactivation: If the item takes damage equal to 50% of its total Item HP, it becomes Broken. In this state, all Passive and Active magics (including the movement bonus and the Mind’s Eye compass) cease to function.

Repair and Re-attunement If the item is hit and deactivated, or if its hit points are reduced to zero (Destroyed), specific rituals are required to restore its legendary status:

  • Standard Repair: To restore lost Hit Points, a master artisan must use a Steam-Powered Shaping Mill and a Magic Circuit Diffuser. The repair requires rare materials equivalent to its original components, such as Sky-tree Resin or Small Aetherite Crystals, to patch the physical and magical lattice.
  • Re-activation: Once the item is physically repaired above its 50% HP threshold, it does not immediately regain its magic. The wearer must perform a Ritual Attunement lasting at least 10 minutes.
  • Spiritual Restoration: If the item was “Destroyed” (0 HP), the original component parts (Basalt, Sinew, Silk) are dropped. Re-merging these into the Harmonious Strider 1029 requires a Tier 5 crafting session and a fresh infusion of “Luminous Eatery” essences to reignite the internal “Synchronized Heartbeat.”

Acquisition and Commerce of the Harmonious Strider 1029

The acquisition of a Tier 5 Legendary item like the Harmonious Strider 1029 is an event of global significance within the 73 island nations of Saṃsāra. Because it is a consolidated physical object born from a specific alchemical merger, it does not exist in standard manufacturing cycles. Obtaining it requires either the successful completion of a world-altering quest, the discovery of an ancient vault in a “Deathly Area,” or the navigation of the most exclusive trade circles in the multiverse.

  • Quest and Reward: Most often, this item is the result of a character reaching Tier 5 and choosing to merge their existing high-tier gear. Alternatively, the Silent Striders or the high priests of the West may grant it as a reward for a task of immense scale, such as stabilizing a failing magic circuit in a floating city or clearing a high-magic infection from a “Scar” on the land.
  • Discovery in Ruined Civilizations: In the forgotten jungles and deep cave systems of Saṃsāra, ruins of civilizations older than 9,000 years occasionally yield “unidentified” artifacts. A Tier 5 avatar using their Mind’s Eye and a focus item might identify a weathered, purple greave in a hoard of Tier 1 salvage.

Trading the Infinite Grace: Exclusive Establishments

In the “Sellers’ Market” of Saṃsāra, Tier 5 items are rarely “bought” with simple coin. Transactions at this level involve political favors, territorial rights, or massive quantities of the rarest precious metals. Because of the “Buyer Beware” philosophy, any transaction involving the Harmonious Strider 1029 includes rigorous magical verification to ensure it is not a high-tier illusion.

  • High-Tier Auction Houses (The Zenith Exchanges): Located in the most secure skyscrapers of megacities like Valthorne, these establishments cater only to possessed souls of Tier 4 and 5. The atmosphere is thick with steam and the hum of protective barrier domes.
    • Transaction Process: Potential buyers must present their “Mind’s Eye” credentials to prove they are Tier 5. The item is displayed on a rotating pedestal of pure aetherite. Bidding is conducted via telepathic relays to maintain the anonymity of the elite participants.
    • Cost: Starting bids begin at 800 Rhodium Coins. The final price often settles around 1,200 Rhodium Coins, but it is common for the auction house to require a “Trade of Equal Standing,” such as a Tier 5 weapon or a deed to a small uncharted island.
  • The Silent Striders’ Secret Vaults (Guild Exchanges): Hidden within the Windweave Cluster on a heavily guarded floating platform, the guild maintains a repository of their most sacred CFT-474 variants.
    • Transaction Process: This is not a shop for the public. A character must have a “Master” Title and a flawless reputation with the guild. The transaction is a ritual where the buyer must demonstrate their “Kinetic Sense” and prove they can handle the “Tier Pain” of such a powerful artifact.
    • Cost: 1,000 Rhodium Coins plus a binding “Vow of Service.” This vow might include the obligation to defend the guild’s hunting grounds for one month of each year.
  • Dimensional Brokers and God-Attuned Traders: In the most remote “somewhat safe” outposts or within the World Bank’s private vaults, agents of the god of commerce occasionally broker private sales between Tier 5 legends.
    • Transaction Process: These brokers act as intermediaries, charging a 1% transaction fee in Rhodium. The trade is often a direct barter. The broker verifies the “Synchronized Heartbeat” of the item to ensure its active magics are intact.
    • Cost: 1,100 Rhodium Coins. If the buyer is a “Multi-Timer” registered citizen or holds a high diplomatic title, they may negotiate a payment plan involving high-quality Magic Crystals (Tier 5 size, comparable to a covered wagon).
  • The Grey Market of the Shadow-Cities (Illegal Salvage): In the deep cave systems or Lawless Seaports, a “stolen” or “recovered” Harmonious Strider may appear after a Tier 5 avatar has died.
    • Transaction Process: Extremely dangerous and conducted in total secrecy. The seller is often trying to move the item quickly to avoid the “Hunter’s Mark” of the original owner’s party.
    • Cost: 600 to 700 Rhodium Coins. While the price is lower, the buyer risks purchasing a “Broken” item that requires thousands of gold in repairs or inviting a blood-feud with the surviving members of the previous owner’s gestalt.
  • Direct Sale to the World Bank (As Collateral): If a character wishes to sell the item, the World Bank is the only institution with the liquid Rhodium to purchase it outright.
    • Transaction Process: The bank’s local tax assessors determine the value based on the current “Market Bearing.” They will verify the item’s durability and ensure it is not “Bound” to a specific nation.
    • Sale Value: The bank typically offers 600 Rhodium Coins (half the buy value) but may offer up to 900 Rhodium Coins if it is considered a “Relic of the Faith.”

Tactical Manifestation of the Infinite Grace

The Harmonious Strider 1029 is not merely a piece of equipment; it is a Tier 5 extension of the character’s gestalt. Roleplaying its use requires a blend of high-speed kinetic dominance and the endearing, unpredictable nature of Druze Mysticism. Because the item is a single physical object, its defensive and offensive maneuvers are integrated into a singular fluid style.

In the Vertical Megacities (e.g., Valthorne)

The dense architecture and steam-powered infrastructure of Saṃsāra’s metropolises provide a complex playground for a Tier 5 avatar.

  • Offensive Roleplay: Utilizing Kinetic Horizon Gratitude, the avatar sprints vertically up a skyscraper’s glass facade, their movement making zero sound. By triggering The Harmonizer’s Ricochet, they fire a spectral bolt from a handheld weapon that banks off three steam vents and a hovering tram to strike a high-tier target through a narrow office window. The roleplay emphasizes the “Unbound” nature of the movement, treating the city’s heights as a flat plane.
  • Defensive Roleplay: When cornered by guild enforcers in a crowded plaza, the avatar activates Awkward Glow. They describe a stumbling, clumsy dance where they “accidentally” trip into their attackers. The wavering, neon-green light of the aetherite crystal charms the enforcers, who find the avatar’s vulnerability so endearing they hesitate to strike, allowing the avatar to slip through the gaps in their formation with Clumsy Battlefield Dominance.

In the Shifting Volcanic Wastes (e.g., Abbeville)

In environments where the ground itself is a hazard, the basalt-reinforced soles and gravity-pulsing magic are essential.

  • Offensive Roleplay: The avatar spots a foe across a river of molten basalt. They shout “Amitabha!” and engage the Leap of the Shattered Veil. They launch five hundred feet into the air, ricocheting off a plume of volcanic ash to change direction mid-flight. They land with a Stomping Resonance directly behind the enemy, the gravity pulse from the basalt soles cracking the cooling crust of the earth and disrupting the foe’s stance before a single blow is landed.
  • Defensive Roleplay: As the earth shifts, a party member loses their footing and falls toward a lava vent. The avatar whispers “Amitabha” in an adventurous apology. The Tether of Endearing Vow shoots out—a dripping, glowing silk strand that latches onto the ally’s waist. The avatar describe the physical strain of anchoring their basalt-weighted leg into the rock, the “nourishing” energy of the silk flowing through the cord to soothe the ally’s panic and injuries as they are pulled to safety.

In the Deep Ocean Settlements (e.g., Thaloryn)

Under thousands of pounds of water pressure, the magical resilience of the item provides a tactical edge in bubble-domed cities.

  • Offensive Roleplay: Using the Mind’s Eye Compass, the avatar identifies the “Best Path” through a swirling, high-magic current that would crush a Tier 1 vessel. They lead a silent charge, the Silent Radiant Presence ensuring that the vibrations of their movement do not alert the local monsters. They use The Harmonizer’s Ricochet to bounce a kinetic pulse off the bubble-dome’s interior walls, striking a target from five different angles simultaneously.
  • Defensive Roleplay: In a “Deathly Area” of the ocean floor where AC is zero, the avatar roleplays a Race Against the Void. They must stay in constant motion to keep the Ethereal Resilience active. They describe the glowing glass stones on their laces pulsing with amber light, guiding the party through a labyrinth of coral that hides invisible predators, using their Celestial Feast Aura to provide a “Spiritual Nourishment” that keeps the group’s morale from breaking under the crushing dark.

In the Ancient Cave Metropolises (e.g., Umbravale)

The tight corridors and stalactite-filled chambers require a mastery of geometry and social finesse.

  • Offensive Roleplay: Facing a secret society in a dark chamber, the avatar uses Tangled Wisdom to uncover a hidden social cue or a mechanical weakness in the cavern walls. Despite the -1 Dexterity penalty making their movements seem “wobbly,” they describe a calculated “stumble” that positions them to launch a Leap of the Shattered Veil from a stalactite, catching the enemy leader in a high-speed airborne ambush.
  • Defensive Roleplay: When an ambush occurs in total darkness, the avatar’s Glow-in-the-Dark essence provides an Ethereal Glow that illuminates the area for the entire party. They roleplay the “Endearing Aura” of the Druze 217 influence, using their awkward sincerity to de-escalate a confrontation with cave-dwelling sentient beasts, turning a potential slaughter into a hesitant, diplomatic parley.

Perception of Activation:

User’s Perspective

  • Sight: Upon activation, the basalt plates along the shin flare with an intense, neon-green brilliance, while the aetherite crystals cycle rapidly through their lopsided hues of orange and pink. A shimmering, amber trajectory line—the “Best Path”—becomes overlaid upon the user’s vision, tracing potential ricochet angles and safe footholds through the environment.
  • Sound: A deep, tectonic thrumming vibrates up the leg, sounding like a mountain’s heartbeat, which is sharply punctuated by the high-frequency magical hum of the Gyre-Sinew stay. When leaping, the shout of “Amitabha” causes a localized atmospheric crackle that sounds like shattering glass.
  • Touch: The user experiences a sudden, buoyant sensation of weightlessness in the lower body, as if the gravity of Saṃsāra has been partially untethered. The “Tether of the Vow” feels like a warm, firm physical grip extending from the foot, providing a sense of absolute stability even when suspended.
  • Smell: A sharp, ozone-rich scent of charged air fills the nostrils, heavily layered with the savory, aromatic steam of sautéed vegetables and celestial spices, evoking a sense of “Culinary Harmony.”
  • Extra-Sensory Perceptions:
    • Kinetic Intuition: The user “feels” the geometry of the surrounding area, instinctively understanding the tension required for a five-point ricochet shot or a cross-canyon leap.
    • Endearing Resonance: A wave of profound, awkward humility washes over the user’s mind, making them hyper-aware of their own vulnerabilities while simultaneously feeling spiritually invincible.
    • Temporal Drag: A slight, dizzying sensation as if the soul is momentarily lagging behind the physical vessel during high-speed leaps across planar boundaries.

Observer’s Perspective

  • Sight: The avatar appears to move as a blur of purple hide and neon-green light. Glowing, crystalline footprints of basalt dust and starlight linger on the ground for several seconds after the avatar passes. During a “Ricochet Stomp,” a visible ripple of golden energy distorts the air in a 10-meter radius.
  • Sound: To an observer, the avatar’s movement is unnaturally silent; there is no footfall, only the occasional “clack” of the basalt soles and the stuttering, melodic hum of the Druze magic. The “Leap of the Shattered Veil” produces a boom like a distant steam explosion.
  • Extra-Sensory Perceptions:
    • Spiritual Ease: Allies within the aura feel a sudden spark of wanderlust and a “nourishing” warmth in their chests that lessens physical pain and doubt.
    • Endearing Vulnerability: Enemies who look upon the activated item often feel a confusing surge of amusement or sympathy, finding it difficult to maintain a hostile focus on such a “clumsy” yet radiant figure.

Positives

  • Absolute Mobility: The combination of triple jump distance, mid-air ricochets, and soundless movement allows for total battlefield control and infiltration.
  • Environmental Immunity: The wearer can navigate “Deathly Areas” with zero AC, relying on the item’s inherent resilience and the “Best Path” guidance to survive.
  • Synergistic Support: The ability to anchor allies and provide them with temporary health and spiritual buffs through the “Celestial Feast Aura” makes the wearer the ultimate anchor for a gestalt.

Negatives

  • Social Spotlight: While the movement is silent, the neon-green glow and pulsing aetherite make it impossible to remain visually hidden in dark or low-light environments.
  • Tactile Distraction: The “sticky” sensation of the enchanted silk and the overpowering scent of the stir-fry essence can be sensory-heavy, requiring high concentration to avoid “Overwhelm.”
  • Kinetic Kickback: Failing a “Leap of the Shattered Veil” by landing on an unstable surface can cause a “Stun” effect as the gravity pulse backfires through the avatar’s leg.
  • Wobbly Coordination: The -1 Dexterity penalty from “Tangled Wisdom” remains a constant risk, occasionally causing the user to stumble at critical moments despite their high-tier power.

The Weaver’s Path: Synthesis of the Infinite Grace 1029

Items Merged

Additional Materials Needed

  • 1 Tier 5 Magic Crystal: Size of a covered wagon, acting as the primary arcane battery for the merger.
  • 500ml Sky-tree Resin: For deep-sealing the basalt to the strider hide.
  • 100g Glimmer-moth Silk: Extra fine-spun for reinforcing the new consolidated seams.
  • 10ml Sunlit Water Essence: To stabilize the Druze aetherite shimmer.
  • Rare Volcanic Herbs: To preserve the culinary aromatics within the magical lattice.

Tools Required

  • Steam-Powered Shaping Mill: For high-pressure basalt compression.
  • Magic Circuit Diffuser: To weave the five distinct magical signatures into one.
  • Willow-Bark Loom: For braiding the silk and sinew into a unified lateral stay.
  • Shaky Runecarver: For the precise, lopsided etching of the new Tier 5 sigils.
  • Steam-Warmed Vat: To blend the culinary oils and resins for the final coating.

Skill Requirements

  • Tier 5 Master Crafting: Expertise in merging high-tier magical properties.
  • Harmonic Attunement (Level 5): To prevent the “Awkward” and “Adventurous” spirits from clashing.
  • Advanced Alchemical Cooking: To condense the properties of the stir-fry and tacos into a non-perishable state.
  • Runecrafting (Level 5): For the complex “Infinite Horizon” micro-etching.

Crafting Steps

  1. Preparation of the Vessel: Place the Amitabha 808 boots into the Steam-Powered Shaping Mill. Increase the pressure until the basalt soles reach a state of “Kinetic Readiness,” then brush them with Sky-tree Resin to prepare for the integration of the Gyre Sinew.
  2. The Sinew Fusion: Using the Willow-Bark Loom, braid the Gyre Sinew CFT474 directly into the lateral hide of the boots. This must be done while chanting the “Silent Strider” vows to ensure the kinetic memory is preserved in the leather.
  3. Culinary Infusion: Slowly heat the Glow in the Dark Stir Fry and Mystical Insect Tacos in the Steam-Warmed Vat. Once the mixture reaches a luminescent emerald oil, submerge the Druze 217 Amulet into the liquid. The amulet will absorb the “Radiant Presence” and “Mystical Resonance” of the foods.
  4. The Spiritual Anchor: Take the infused Druze 217 and embed its aetherite crystal into the front basalt plate of the boots using the Magic Circuit Diffuser. Use the Shaky Runecarver to etch the number “1029” around the crystal, bonding the Druze Mysticism to the Amitabha Vow.
  5. Crystalline Powering: Connect the partially merged object to the Tier 5 Magic Crystal. Channel the massive arcane flow through the Magic Circuit Diffuser to collapse the physical forms of the five items. The boots, amulet, and strings will physically shrink and fuse into a Single Greave-Vanguard.
  6. Final Tempering: While the item is still warm from the merger, apply the remaining Sunlit Water Essence and Glimmer-moth Silk to the seams. Strike the Tuning Fork of the Pure Land to synchronize the “Harmonious Heartbeat” of the artifact.
  7. Humble Reflection: The crafter must perform a 10-minute Humble Reflection under the light of Helios. If the item emits a soft, neon-green glow and a hesitant hum, the merger is successful, and the Harmonious Strider 1029 is fully activated.

Single Leg-Shell of 1029 Awkward Stumbles and Endless Walking

It was in the time of the old days, when the sky-gas-orb called VaporSphere was showing its dark face to the star Helios, that the happening of the great clumsiness came to be. This is the truth-telling of the hero of the other-world soul, who was known in the speaking of the Windweave Cluster as The One Who Falls Upwards With Good Intentions.

The One Who Falls Upwards carried the five heavy burdens of the scattered path. On his two walking-appendages, he wore the Amitabha 808 of the Boundless Horizon, which are the foot-stones of the pilgrims who say thanks to the dirt. Around his breathing-tube [neck], he wore the Druze 217 of Awkward Grace, the lopsided star-rock that made everyone feel sorry and warm for his lack of foot-skill. In his gripping-flesh [hands], he held the Gyre Sinew Bowstring CFT474, the tail-string of the leaping beast that makes the silent death-wood [bow]. In his holding-pouch, he kept the Glow in the Dark Stir Fry and the Mystical Insect Tacos, the sacred plant-meats and bug-breads that shine with the light of the Luminaria and the Harmonizers.

The old writings tell that a great danger came from the upper air. A machine of the forgotten sky-builders broke its sleep and cast down a continuous spear of coherent light. This light-spear was a burst of energy so highly concentrated that it broke the normal pulling of the earth. The wise men of the numbers who measure the world know that the energy of a thing and the heaviness [mass] of a thing are the same, as the ancient law declares E=MC2. Because the energy of the light-spear was so immensely vast, it possessed its own heavy gravity. The gravitational pull of the energy beam was so great that it began to drag the floating islands and the flying steam-ships out of the sky, pulling them horizontally into the burning pillar of hard light.

The One Who Falls Upwards was walking the bridge of the sky-city when the gravity of the light-spear pulled him sideways. He did not mean to do the heroism, but his feet tangled in the ropes of a merchant tent. He tumbled into the pulling-force of the energy beam. As he fell sideways into the sky, the intense heat and the crushing gravity of the light-beam began to press his five heavy burdens together.

The heat of the coherent light-spear cooked the Glow in the Dark Stir Fry and the Mystical Insect Tacos, but because he was tumbling, the glowing plant-meat and the sacred bug-bread spilled not into his eating-hole [mouth], but onto the basalt stones of his Amitabha 808 boots. The gravitational crushing of the E=MC2 light-spear pushed the Druze 217 amulet into the leather of the right boot. The Gyre Sinew Bowstring, reacting to the extreme kinetic pulling, snapped from his hand and wrapped itself around the right boot to hold the breaking reality together.

The pulling of the light-gravity and the heat of the sky-beam melted the five things into one thing. The left boot was destroyed into nothing, but the right boot drank all the magic. It became the Single Leg-Shell of the 1029 Stumbles, which we now call the Harmonious Strider 1029.

When the transformation was complete, The One Who Falls Upwards found his right leg possessed the weight of a mountain but the floating of a cloud. The light-spear was pulling him to his death, but he spoke the word of the pilgrims: “Amitabha!”

He did the Leap of the Shattered Veil. Because he possessed the string of the jumping beast, he did not jump straight. He used the gravitational curve of the energy beam itself to bounce. He ricocheted off the heavy gravity of the laser burst, striking the empty air as if it were a wall of solid stone. He bounced five times across the sky, leaving footsteps of glowing green bug-light and amber glass-fire in the empty wind.

With his final bounce, he crashed into the forgotten sky-machine that was making the light-spear. Because of the Druze 217 magic inside the single leg-shell, his crashing was very awkward. He hit the machine not with the violence of a warrior, but with the clumsy stumbling of a lost child. The machine, feeling the overwhelming aura of endearing grace and clumsy charm, ceased its hostile function. It was charmed by the awkwardness of the impact. The continuous laser burst stopped, and the gravitational pulling of the heavy energy ceased to be.

The floating islands returned to their resting places in the air. The One Who Falls Upwards stood on the broken sky-machine, his single purple leg-shell pulsing with the neon-green light of the celestial feast aura. He looked down at the people of the Windweave Cluster, who were feeling a great warmth of spiritual nourishment filling their stomachs, even though they had not eaten the bug-bread or the glowing plants.

The hero did not stay to receive the praises of the city Mayors or the Guild Masters. He turned and walked away across the empty sky, his single foot-shell making no sound, yet leaving a loud feeling of humble apology in the hearts of all who watched him go. It is written that he is still walking, finding the safest path through the invisible dangers of the high air, always stumbling, but never falling.

The Moral of the Story: Even the most clumsy footfall can shatter the greatest danger, if the heart is nourished by harmony and the traveler is brave enough to leap into the gravity of the unknown.
