Is large cities built of mage towers that float in the sky. Each tower sets on six bowls that form a circle with the tower in the middle. The bowls (which is an item unto itself and is soul bound to the creating avatar) have had a permanent float spell cast on them. This is done by casting the float spell on each bowl every day for a year. If there is any one day that is missed, then the process must start over. Each bowl floats at 3000 feet and will catch water and forms a small swamp.

Most of the mages made their towers 20 stories tall. They could only do this one floor per year until the tower was completed. Mages like to keep their towers clean on the outside. Either naturally or through a spell a rainstorm will wash the towers. Not only does the water catch in the bowls but it causes a cloud to form at the base of the towers. This causes the city to look like a passing cloud from the ground below.

With many towers being linked together for more than a thousand years these cities began to attract avian creatures that build structures supported by cables strung between the towers.

It was learned that higher tier avatar’s would create a larger flatter diameter disk but it would require twice the number of days and more materials to recreate the floating disk for each tier. This would allow larger towers to be built at a much higher cost. The big advantage for tier three and above is the gravity below the disk becomes the opposite for the elongated sphere below the disk. This means that within the elongated sphere of influence below the disk that buildings can be built upside down. The floor of the buildings would always be toward the disk. When within this influence when one looked up they would see the land or sea of the world in the sky.

It was also learned that decedents of the creating avatar could influence the direction of travel the disk would take through the sky. (note: possessed avatar’s are sterile and therefore can not sire or become pregnant.) If the avatar had children or become pregnant before they were possessed these decedents as a group could influence the direction of travel of the disk.
