There are 73 island countries on the moon which is the world. That means that each central city on each island country has 72 (or less) ambassadors. This group forms one of the ruling bodies that makes and maintains the laws for each country. Each ambassador must have been born on the island country they represent and not leave the country until they reach young adult status. They also must registrar at the guildhall of the central city before they can be assigned as an ambassador.

Diplomatic Carrier:

An item transported from one political body to a different political body in a different Island Country is considered immune from search or tax. This is normally sent by an ambassador of the Island Country to where the item is going. Each adventurer in the party that transports the items is paid 1 silver per mile plus expenses. Expenses includes “estimated” room, board, and transportation cost. Water or liquor is up to the adventurer. This can come to a large sum and is paid when the items are delivered with a 25% up front advance. Reduction of payment may apply if the item is not delivered on time.

Getting to know the Diplomat: It is hard to know who which adventures will have the capability of using the “sending spell” in the future as anyone may take class levels to reach that spell. Therefore, each ambassador will give each adventurer a gold for spending 10 minutes getting to know them. This may be done the first time the adventurer reaches the central city or when they return from another country. This may be done in friendly groups of diplomats and/or adventures.

Sending: You send a short message of twenty-five words or less to a creature with which you are familiar. The creature hears the message in its mind, recognizes you as the sender if it knows you, and can answer in a like manner immediately.

“Sending” political messages: This is a negotiated amount of no less than 10 gold. This is paid only if the message is acknowledged. A d4 is rolled, if positive the message is acknowledged, if negative the message fails. If a 1 is rolled, the person receiving the message no longer holds their post and the message always fails.

Escorting a new appointee: This is the task of being a bodyguard for and transporting any items (within reason) a new ambassador takes to their new post. It pays 1 gold per mile for each member in the party but does not pay expenses. This is paid by the ambassador when they reach their destination with a 50% up front advance. New ambassadors may pay more if additional envoys, ministers, family members, or excessive goods are included. The ambassador is responsible for their own expenses and their entourage.

Be aware that “over the sea” transportation cost is negotiated at each “port of call”. There may of may not be a ship going in the right direction and the rates may vary.
