Spirit 419 of Entice

Lore

When the first wandering souls tumbled from the purgatorial heights into the frozen wastes of northern Saṃsāra, they awoke to a land teeming with invisible presences. The soils, the glacial streams, and the ancient permafrost were not empty matter; under the conscious dominion of the world-goddess Gaialilith, every crag and willow grove possessed an animating essence. Among the displaced peoples were lineages descending from the Evenk, Chukchi, and Siberian hunting traditions, who carried the understanding that the unseen world cannot be conquered through brute command or forced subjugation. Spirits on this moon are proud, skittish, or easily embittered by arrogant intruders who brandish weapons without greeting the earth.

To bridge this divide, the northern shamans, singers, and ritual dancers developed the specialized art of Entice. Rather than demanding audience through harsh commands or binding curses, the practitioner seeks to allure, beckon, and charm the spirits of the land through sensory beauty and kinetic joy. Enticement in this tradition is an act of ceremonial seduction: spirits are coaxed out of their hidden alcoves by the irresistible cadence of small seed-bells, the soft rustle of dyed caribou-hair tassels mimicking wind through summer sedge, the rich fragrance of scorched sweetgrass, and the deep, honeyed harmonics of two-tone throat-singing. To entice a spirit is to offer it hospitality so exquisite that curiosity overcomes its fear, drawing it willingly into the warmth of the avatar’s presence to converse, guide, and protect.

Spirit 419 of Entice was created to serve as an accessible ritual focus for tier 1 avatars walking the path of the spirit-caller, diplomat, or scout. Fashioned by tribal hide-workers and lapidaries using indigenous tundra materials, the collar houses an uncut, coin-sized tier 1 magic crystal at the hollow of the throat. By synchronizing the physical vibrations of the wearer’s vocal cords with the delicate acoustic chime of river-bronze bells, the item transforms the breath and posture of the wearer into a continuous lure. It enables a newly possessed avatar to soothe feral beasts, attract lingering ancestral shades, and walk through perilous territory wrapped in the protective curiosity of the local land spirits.

Description

Spirit 419 of Entice is a ceremonial ritual torc-collar tailored to rest comfortably against the base of the throat and upper clavicles. The foundation consists of a two-inch-wide band of vegetable-tanned reindeer leather, conditioned with rendered deer tallow and alder-bark tannins to achieve a supple, waterproof finish of warm chestnut brown. The interior facing of the band is lined with dense, sheared white ermine fur, preventing chafing against the neck during sustained dance steps and insulating the wearer’s jugular against biting subarctic winds.

Centered at the throat is an elliptical medallion carved from ancient mammoth ivory, polished with fine river sand to a soft eggshell luster. Across the front face, delicate incised spirals depict stylized ripples radiating outward from an open hearth, filled with powdered cinnabar and pine pitch to yield vivid reddish-brown lines. Concealed within a hollowed compartment directly behind this ivory throat-plate is an uncut tier 1 magic crystal, seated firmly in bedded conifer resin. Under normal sight, the crystal manifests only as a gentle pulse of warmth against the skin; under True Sight, it radiates an alluring, rhythmic swirl of violet and rose-tinted weave-energy that pulses outward with every spoken breath.

Suspended from the lower margin of the leather band is a cascading fringe of sensory lures. Alternating strands of braided caribou sinew support twelve miniature clapperless seed-bells cold-hammered from native river bronze, interspersed with twenty-four polished beads of fossilized amber and six slender hollow cylinders cut from goose wing-bones. Clustered between the metal bells are fine tufts of caribou throat-hair dyed a pale saffron yellow using arctic lichen extract. When the wearer speaks, turns, or dances, these delicate tassels sway and flutter, while the bronze bells strike against the bone cylinders, producing a soft, hypnotic acoustic rustle that mimics the sound of melting snow trickling over pebbles. The entire piece carries a permanent, inviting scent of dried sweetgrass, willow bark, and smoked cedar.

Detailed Stats

  • Item Classification and Tier Rank:
    • Tier Rank: Tier 1 item.
    • Rarity Rating: Common rarity.
    • Operational Classification: Worn focus and shamanic sensory conduit.
  • Specific Slot Allocation:
    • Dedicated Slot: Neck Slot.
    • Slot Consumption: Occupies exactly one gear slot of the nineteen allowable worn gear slots for a tier 1 avatar.
    • Form Factor Integration: Fastens securely at the back of the neck with two braided leather toggles; sits flat beneath chest armor and mantle garments without restricting head rotation or airway expansion.
  • Defensive Value:
    • Armor Check (AC) Modifier: Grants a +1 Armor Check bonus to the wearer.
    • Mechanical Boundary Adherence: Conforms to the universal rule limiting armor check values to a maximum of 3 per item tier level.
  • Structural Durability and Item Hit Points:
    • Resilience Score: Base resilience rating of 10.
    • Total Item Hit Points Formula: Maximum item hit points equal the wearing avatar’s maximum health points plus 10 (calculated as base resilience 10 multiplied by tier level 1).
    • Degradation Thresholds: If targeted directly by an attack, the item loses function and is designated as broken if reduced to half its maximum hit points or fewer. If reduced to zero hit points, the sinew breaks, the amber beads scatter, and the tier 1 crystal shatters into useless fragments.
    • Attunement Defense: If struck while actively attuned, a successful attack unattunes the item rather than inflicting immediate structural hit point damage; subsequent attacks on the unattuned item deal damage to its hit point pool. Damaged states require dedicated repairs before attunement can be renewed.
  • Attunement Requirements and Handling:
    • Attunement Method: Simple Attunement.
    • Time Requirement: Requires one continuous minute of rhythmic breathing while vocalizing a sustained, low-register drone against the ivory throat-plate.
    • Capacity Usage: Occupies one of the avatar’s ten allowable active attuned item slots.
    • Single-Bearer Constraint: Can remain attuned to only one avatar at a time; an attempt by another avatar to attune to the collar severs the previous connection immediately, which the former bearer can physically sense.
  • Valuation and Mercantile Context:
    • Suggested Baseline Value: 40 to 55 Silver pieces (equivalent to 80 to 110 nickels, or 4 to 5.5 gold coins).
    • Economic Dynamics: Operates under a sellers’ market with buyer beware principles. In boreal hunting villages where spirit placation is vital for communal survival, the collar commands high trade value in dried meat, prime pelts, or alchemical fluids; in industrialized steam-and-coal metropolises, merchants frequently categorize it as common folk jewelry, offering lower cash value while charging high markups if sold as an exotic curio.

Multiple Passives Magic

  • Passive 1: Alluring Resonance of the Hearth:
    • While the collar is attuned and openly worn, the embedded tier 1 crystal continuously emits an ambient wave of inviting warmth and spiritual welcome.
    • The wearer projects an innate aura of harmless hospitality that naturally disarms the suspicion of wild animals, skittish nature spirits, and unaligned ancestral shades within a 30-foot radius.
    • The avatar receives an inherent advantage on all skill checks involving Persuasion, Animal Handling, and Diplomatic Negotiation when attempting to coax, befriend, or entice non-humanoid beings into peaceful dialogue.
  • Passive 2: Kinetic Poise of the Ritual Dancer:
    • The balanced counterweight of the amber beads and seed-bells against the clavicles establishes an acoustic and vibrational center of gravity that steadies the avatar’s physical equilibrium.
    • The wearer gains complete resistance to involuntary balance loss when performing circular dance steps, turns, or vocal chants across treacherous ground, such as wet river moss, slick permafrost, or shifting gravel.
    • The rhythmic auditory feedback shields the avatar’s mind from sudden panic and environmental vertigo, providing natural resistance against entering the Shaken or Dazed conditions during chaotic encounters.
  • Passive 3: Scent-Veil of the Sweetgrass Bower:
    • The aromatic conifer resins and treated sweetgrass fibers continuously diffuse a subtle, pleasant masking fragrance in a five-foot radius around the avatar’s upper body.
    • This aromatic field neutralizes the smell of fear, bodily sweat, and stale travel dirt, preventing keen-nosed predatory beasts from detecting the avatar through hunting scent checks.
    • The wearer is insulated against ambient nausea, gaining enhanced resistance against foul, sensory-overwhelming environmental stenches such as bog gases, sulfurous vents, or battlefield decay.

Multiple Activable Magics

  • Activable Magic 1: Somatic Beckon of the Curious Wisp:
    • Action Cost: Consumes exactly one action during the avatar’s turn.
    • Casting Modality: Normal (Somatic) casting lasting less than six seconds, requiring the avatar to tilt their chin upward, perform a rapid three-step circular foot shuffle, and gently stroke the ivory throat-plate with two fingers.
    • Operational Effect: The tier 1 crystal discharges a silver-violet pulse of energy that rolls outward in a 30-foot radius. This pulse mimics the acoustic frequency of cracking seeds and bubbling meltwater, enticing hidden entities to reveal themselves.
    • Functional Utility: For three minutes, shy nature spirits, camouflaged game animals, and concealed natural water springs within the area are filled with a sudden, irresistible urge to move or make sound, immediately alerting the avatar to their exact locations.
    • True Name Interaction: If the true name of the local forest, river bend, or valley is spoken during the somatic stroke, the effective detection and enticement radius expands from 30 feet to 60 feet.
  • Activable Magic 2: Ritual Chanting of the Seductive Chorus:
    • Action Cost: Consumes one action to initiate, followed by continuous execution for greater than six seconds, classifying the casting fully as a Ritual.
    • Casting Modality: Ritual casting requiring sustained two-tone throat-singing, low humming, and rhythmic stamping that keeps the bronze seed-bells chiming in an unbroken, hypnotic triple-meter.
    • Operational Effect: Harnessing the full ritual chanting benefit of up to a +25% increase in magical potency, the rite parts the local veil between physical Saṃsāra and the immediate border of purgatory.
    • Communication Mechanics: The avatar entices the shade of an ancestral hunter, departed nomad, or intelligent beast whose remains lie within 100 yards to step into visible manifestation. The spirit appears as a translucent, smiling silhouette outlined in warm violet light, drawn by the desire to hear the song. The spirit willingly converses with the avatar, answering up to three direct questions regarding local topographical secrets, historical skirmishes, or the hidden vulnerabilities of regional monsters.
    • Interruption Hazards: Because the rite demands continuous vocal projection and physical cadence, taking damage during the chant forces the avatar to make an immediate saving throw to avoid losing focus and dissipating the summoned spirit.
  • Activable Magic 3: Silent Lure of the Velvet Trail:
    • Action Cost: Consumes exactly one action during the avatar’s turn.
    • Casting Modality: Silent casting executed entirely without spoken words, relying exclusively on directed thought channeled through a sharp, deliberate tap against the mammoth ivory plate while maintaining eye contact with a designated area.
    • Operational Effect: Operating under the standard silent casting reduction of 25% potency, the collar projects an invisible psychic whisper to a point on the ground up to 20 feet away.
    • Resolution: A single aggressive predator, territorial monster, or guard hound within range must roll against the avatar’s skill check difficulty. If the effect succeeds, the target becomes intensely curious about the targeted spot, breaking off its charge or aggressive stance to walk over and sniff the ground for one minute, allowing the avatar to slip past or reposition without drawing an attack.

Commercial Channels, Mercantile Establishments, and Regional Valuation of Spirit 419 of Entice

  • Subarctic Shamanic Lodges and Communal Furriers:
    • Operating Environment and Physical Layout: Across the subarctic and boreal archipelagos of northern Saṃsāra, including island nations such as Thule, Dorset, and Kachemak, commercial exchanges do not occur within massive department stores or institutional shopping centers. In accordance with the decentralized commercial habits of the world, trade is conducted within family-operated furrier workshops, bone-carving longhouses, and seasonal gathering lodges. These modest establishments are integrated directly into communal living quarters, featuring log timber frames insulated with thick turf, dry peat, and bark shingles. The interior atmosphere is heavy with the rich aromas of smoldering sweetgrass, dried mountain sage, rendered caribou tallow, and tanning liquors brewed from alder bark. Bundles of cured winter pelts, strings of carved walrus-tusk beads, and unmounted bronze clappers hang from spruce ceiling rafters to stay dry above floor moisture, while workbenches are cluttered with hand awls, sinew cordage, and shallow wooden trays containing raw river amber.
    • Acquisition and Buying Procedures: When an avatar enters a boreal furrier lodge seeking to purchase Spirit 419 of Entice, the exchange begins with ceremonial hospitality rather than an immediate financial transaction. The master furrier or clan elder examines the prospective buyer thoroughly, observing their manual poise, physical posture, and vocal cadence. The artisan frequently employs their Mind’s Eye to evaluate the buyer’s intrinsic statistics, ensuring the avatar has attained at least tier 1 and possesses the spiritual alignment required to wear an entice-conduit without causing offense to local nature spirits. Payment is accepted in standard silver coin, cast electrum, or traditional non-metal currency—such as polished mammoth-bone discs or stamped slate tokens calibrated to the exact weight and value of standard silver.
    • Purchasing Cost: Because the foundational materials—caribou leather, sheared ermine fur, fossil ivory, river amber, and native bog bronze—are harvested locally from the surrounding tundra and river basins, manufacturing overhead is minimal. In these northern workshops, Spirit 419 of Entice is priced between 40 and 55 silver pieces (equivalent to 80 to 110 nickels, or 4 to 5.5 gold coins). If the purchasing avatar is an active member of the regional Trappers’ Union, Hunters’ Faction, or Lapidary Guild and openly wears their official faction badge, they receive the standard commercial discount of 10% multiplied by their character tier (a flat 10% deduction for a tier 1 avatar), lowering the purchase cost to 36 to 49.5 silver pieces.
    • Liquidation and Selling Dynamics: When an avatar visits a northern craftsman to liquidate a pre-owned Spirit 419 of Entice, the proprietor inspects the item for physical and magical wear. The artisan checks the integrity of the ermine fur lining, verifies that none of the twelve bronze seed-bells have cracked, and uses an active Mind’s Eye examination to confirm that the internal tier 1 crystal remains intact and has not suffered catastrophic fracturing during past rites. In accordance with Saṃsāra’s mercantile conventions, standard shopkeepers haggle around a baseline of 10% of the item’s intrinsic value multiplied by the character tier of the seller. For a tier 1 avatar selling the collar, the merchant extends an offer between 4 and 5.5 silver pieces. The sale is formally recorded in a handwritten parchment ledger for inspection by town magistrates, and the resulting payout is transmitted directly to the seller’s account in the World Bank via local municipal telegraph or banking couriers, less the mandatory 1% processing fee rounded up to the nearest copper.
  • Metropolitan Arcane Salons and Diplomatic Haberdasheries:
    • Operating Environment and Physical Layout: In the densely populated central capital cities and major coastal ports of island realms such as Assyria, Mycenaean, Minoan, or Banpo, the item is sold in refined, multi-story mercantile ateliers situated along paved stone thoroughfares and gas-lit arcades. These establishments cater to aristocratic courtiers, royal ambassadors, visiting scholars, and high-tier party scouts seeking specialized social gear. The shops feature high ceilings supported by fluted marble or polished cedar pillars, large bay windows of leaded glass, and velvet-draped mahogany display cabinets illuminated by brass alchemical lamps or suspended globes of glowing bio-luminescent moss. The merchants are certified guild enchanters or retired diplomatic emissaries dressed in formal silk robes, assisted by apprentices who use soft cloth wraps to handle delicate enchanted apparel.
    • Acquisition and Buying Procedures: Within metropolitan boutiques, Spirit 419 of Entice is marketed not merely as a survival tool, but as an exotic piece of northern shamanic regalia and a high-refinement diplomatic asset. Merchants provide authenticated scrolls of provenance detailing the master artisan’s tribal lineage, the geological river basin from which the amber was gathered, and the tier rating of the embedded catalyst. A customer must present their identification through their Mind’s Eye to confirm credit standing with the World Bank before high-value display cases are unlocked. The transaction is conducted formally over a seated counter, accompanied by spiced herbal tea, while clerks record the change of ownership.
    • Purchasing Cost: Due to cumulative inter-state shipping tariffs, maritime freight surcharges across rough seas, intermediate merchant markups, and the mandatory 3% municipal sales tax enforced within Central and State cities, retail prices are heavily inflated. In metropolitan boutiques, the collar commands between 75 and 110 silver pieces (7.5 to 11 gold coins). Avatars holding verified membership in the sovereign Arcane Crafters Guild, Diplomatic Corps, or Bards’ Syndicate can apply their 10% tier 1 discount, reducing the price to 67.5 to 99 silver pieces.
    • Liquidation and Selling Dynamics: If an avatar brings Spirit 419 of Entice into a metropolitan salon to sell, the merchant conducts a rigorous appraisal to confirm the authenticity of the mammoth ivory and ensure no residual spiritual curses, active Banishment Marks, or ownership disputes remain on the leather. Adhering to the 10% merchant margin formula, the proprietor offers a tier 1 seller between 7.5 and 11 silver pieces. If the amber beads are chipped or the sweetgrass scent has faded, the merchant will lower the offer, reminding the seller of prevailing sellers’ market conditions. Proceeds are transferred directly into the seller’s World Bank ledger, generating a traceable audit entry accessible to royal tax collectors.
  • Waterfront Black-Market Enclaves and Smuggler Basements:
    • Operating Environment and Physical Layout: Operating within the dark alleys, damp drainage vaults, and unpatrolled pier warehouses of bustling international seaports, black-market dens exist entirely outside the legal authority of island monarchies, municipal mayors, and town guilds. These operations frequently hide behind fronts such as greasy salt-fish smokehouses, illicit dice parlors, or secondhand junk shops. The proprietors are ruthless independent fences, smugglers, or disenfranchised avatars who maintain webs of street urchins and informants watching the docks for incoming salvage. The physical interior is lit by crude tallow candles, with merchandise stored inside iron-reinforced footlockers concealed beneath false floorboards.
    • Acquisition and Buying Procedures: Entering a black-market den requires paying a silver coin gate fee to armed door sentries or securing an introduction through an established underworld contact. Merchandise displayed here is often acquired from adventuring battlefields or recovered from the sites where possessed tier 1 avatars perished, leaving behind their worldly belongings when their bodies dissolved into purple sparks. No questions are asked concerning bloodstains, cut cordage, or previous owners. Transactions are conducted strictly in hard physical currency—gold coins, raw electrum ingots, or silver bullion. World Bank deposits are entirely forbidden to prevent official surveillance, tax tracing, and asset freezing.
    • Purchasing Cost: Black-market merchants operate under an opportunistic “buyer beware” framework. If the fence discerns that the prospective buyer has an urgent need for an untraceable spirit-beckoning focus or an item capable of silently distracting guard beasts during an infiltration, the price is inflated to between 85 and 140 silver pieces (8.5 to 14 physical gold coins). Guild badges and faction discounts are disregarded unless the customer belongs to the specific crime syndicate controlling the district, in which case terms must be negotiated directly with the gang master.
    • Liquidation and Selling Dynamics: Selling the collar to a waterfront fence provides the quickest avenue for liquidating gear obtained through dubious, unauthorized, or violent circumstances. The fence provides immediate cash payout in untraceable, physical metal coin without maintaining ledgers or requiring true names. While legitimate merchants pay only the standard 10% tier baseline (4 to 5.5 silver), a dockside fence who possesses an immediate overseas contract from an espionage cell or poachers’ ring may pay up to double the standard merchant rate, providing between 8 and 11 silver pieces in physical coin. However, if the seller appears gravely wounded, hunted by royal city guards, or low on health points, the fence will exploit their vulnerability and offer as little as 2 silver coins.
  • Itinerant Freight Caravans and Frontier Waystation Traders:
    • Operating Environment and Physical Layout: Moving along the packed-earth roadways connecting coastal wharves to inland provincial capitals, traveling peddlers conduct commerce from heavy, canvas-covered freight wagons. These wagons are outfitted with exterior hanging hooks, iron-strapped travel trunks, and bench workbenches where the merchant’s family repairs goods on the move. Encounters occur in fortified waystation yards, roadside coaching inns, and river ferry landings, where freight wagons form circular defensive rings at night to ward off roaming monsters and highway bandits.
    • Acquisition and Buying Procedures: Commercial dealings at a wagon tailgate are fast and practical. The peddler stands on the wagon sideboard with a loaded heavy crossbow close at hand, monitoring the surrounding scrub for ambushes. The buyer inspects the merchandise directly on the drop-down tailgate table. Because these peddlers operate primarily across rural territories where municipal sales taxes and gate fees do not apply, transactions are clean, though the merchant must calculate the 5% border tariff they will encounter when crossing into the next state.
    • Purchasing Cost: In rural frontier zones, Spirit 419 of Entice commands between 50 and 70 silver pieces. The wagon trader actively encourages barter, readily accepting useful traveling goods in place of hard coin—including preserved rations, clean water skins, medicinal herbs, black powder flasks, or biological fluids extracted from monsters via fluid collectors. If hard coin is used, standard silver or weight-standardized non-metal regional tokens are accepted.
    • Liquidation and Selling Dynamics: Frontier peddlers operate with tight physical coin reserves and prioritize goods that are compact, light, and easy to sell to incoming adventurers heading into the wilderness. When purchasing the collar from a tier 1 avatar, the peddler applies the 10% merchant formula (offering 5 to 7 silver pieces), but will actively attempt to settle the transaction in survival supplies, such as lamp oil, spare cordage, weapon whetstones, or clothing repairs. If coin is paid, the transaction is noted on the wagon’s travel manifest to ensure legal compliance during military road patrol inspections.
  • Regulatory Taxation, Banking Overhead, and Currency Encumbrance:
    • Statutory Taxation and Checkpoint Levies: All lawful purchases of Spirit 419 of Entice conducted within municipal jurisdictions are subject to taxation established by the island country’s governing bodies. Transactions finalized within Central Cities, State Capitals, or incorporated Towns incur a mandatory 3% point-of-sale tax. Merchant wagons transporting the item across provincial borders are assessed a 5% ad valorem tariff by state road guards. Transit through the Central City incurs only a 1% national toll. Foreign avatars attempting to purchase or sell the item must pay double the tax and fee rates assessed on registered local citizens.
    • World Bank Transaction Surcharges: Whenever proceeds from the sale of the collar are deposited into an avatar’s account through the god of commerce’s banking branches, an automatic 1% administrative surcharge is deducted and rounded up to the nearest copper coin. On a sale yielding 5 silver pieces (50 copper), the bank extracts 1 copper piece as a service deduction, crediting 4 silver and 9 copper to the character’s Mind’s Eye account ledger. The bank maintains quasi-logs of the transaction, which may be referenced by municipal bailiffs or tax assessors investigating local commerce.
    • Physical Currency Weight Versus Extradimensional Containment: Avatars carrying substantial sums of loose copper, nickel, or silver to finance purchases must manage physical encumbrance. Loose metal coinage possesses considerable weight and rattles noisily, creating fatigue and attracting the attention of thieves and predators along wilderness routes. Placing the coins inside an Extradimensional Pouch eliminates all coin weight and volume, allowing the avatar to transport their mercantile capital without encumbrance penalties.

Roleplay Dynamics, Environmental Tactics, and Defensive-Offensive Applications of Spirit 419 of Entice

  • Subarctic Tundra, Permafrost Bogs, and Glacial Scree:
    • Environmental Context and Atmospheric Dynamics: In the frigid expanse of northern Saṃsāra, the tundra is governed by shifting winds, knee-deep muskeg bogs, and blinding snow squalls under the dim illumination of Helios and the looming emerald disc of VaporSphere. White-furred dire wolves, tundra saber-cats, and territorial mammoth herds patrol these wastes, relying primarily on acute scent and ground vibration to detect intruders. Sound carries across frozen lakes with razor clarity, making loud armor and clumsy movement suicidal for a solitary scout or traveling party.
    • Defensive Roleplay and Mechanics:
      • When tracking through territory actively hunted by scent-stalking apex predators, the avatar relies on the passive Scent-Veil of the Sweetgrass Bower. The player roleplays walking calmly into the wind, drawing confidence from the steady diffusion of dried sweetgrass, smoked cedar, and alpine conifer oils emanating from the collar. Because the aromatic field continuously neutralizes the scent of fear, body perspiration, and travel dirt within a five-foot radius, tracking beasts cannot catch the party’s downwind scent, denying wolves and snow-stalkers their primary hunting advantage.
      • While navigating treacherous, slick permafrost or moss-covered glacial moraines, the avatar benefits from the passive Kinetic Poise of the Ritual Dancer. The counterweight of the twelve bronze seed-bells and twenty-four amber beads against the collarbone acts as an acoustic center of gravity. The player describes their avatar executing fluid, circular turns and light-footed strides across black ice without slipping or losing balance, ignoring non-magical terrain movement penalties and remaining immune to sudden vertigo or involuntary balance checks.
      • Upon suspecting a white-furred predator is lying in wait within a snowbank, the avatar expends one action to execute the Somatic Beckon of the Curious Wisp. Tilting their chin upward and brushing two fingers against the carved mammoth ivory plate in a brief circular shuffle, the user releases a silver-violet wave across a 30-foot radius. The pulse mimics the sound of cracking seeds and trickling meltwater; camouflaged snow-vipers and lurking tundra cats are overcome with sudden curiosity, shifting their weight or poking their snouts from the snow, instantly exposing their ambush positions to the party.
      • When an unavoidable melee clash occurs, the collar’s +1 Armor Check modifier is roleplayed as defensive posture and neck deflection. As an attacking dire wolf leaps for the avatar’s throat, the wearer tucks their chin, catching the beast’s snapping incisors directly across the dense, curved mammoth ivory medallion and reinforced caribou leather band. The blow glances off the polished ivory, preserving the avatar’s throat and converting a potential critical wound into a deflected miss.
    • Offensive Roleplay and Mechanics:
      • When encountering a solitary, aggressive tundra predator guarding a narrow ice pass, the avatar uses the Silent Lure of the Velvet Trail. Without breaking stride or speaking a word, the avatar taps the ivory medallion with a sharp, downward index strike, projecting an invisible psychic whisper to a snowy outcropping twenty feet to the flank. Operating under silent casting rules (with a 25% potency reduction), the pulse compels the charging beast to divert its momentum, skidding through the snow to sniff the ground with intense curiosity for one minute. This buys the avatar time to bypass the threat or permits allied strikers to position for an unopposed backstab.
      • If combat becomes mandatory, the avatar uses their primary action to initiate a close-quarters strike, utilizing iterative attack rules (applying one-half damage for secondary actions) alongside their tier 1 pass-through die (1d4). While distracting the beast with the hypnotic sway of the saffron caribou-hair tassels, the avatar drives an off-hand hunting blade into the creature’s flank, channeling the tier die directly into the final damage pool.
      • Before entering an uncharted glacial cavern system, the avatar conducts the Ritual Chanting of the Seductive Chorus outside the entrance. The player roleplays kneeling in the snow, performing continuous two-tone throat singing while gently swaying so the bronze bells ring in an unbroken triple-meter. Harnessing the full +25% ritual potency bonus, the avatar entices the shade of an ancestral Evenk hunter whose bones lie buried in the moraine. Drawn by the nostalgic beauty of the hearth song, the spirit materializes in violet mist and willingly answers three questions, detailing the cavern’s interior drop-offs, the location of sleeping cave bears, and the safest chimney exit.
  • Subterranean Caverns, Fungal Grottoes, and Mining Delves:
    • Environmental Context and Atmospheric Dynamics: In the deep underworld of Saṃsāra, adventurers must navigate narrow lava tubes, bioluminescent fungal forests, and damp, echoing mine shafts. Total darkness dominates, broken only by glowing spores or subterranean phosphorus. The air is foul with decomposing mycelium, damp mold, and toxic gas pockets. Sound rebounds unpredictably against cold basalt walls, and tremorsense predators such as cave fishers and giant arachnids lie suspended from the ceiling, waiting to drop upon unwary travelers.
    • Defensive Roleplay and Mechanics:
      • Navigating cavern ledges suspended over bottomless chasms, the avatar relies on the Kinetic Poise passive. The rhythmic clinking of the amber beads against the bronze bells creates a soothing auditory anchor, grounding the avatar’s nervous system. The player roleplays ignoring the overwhelming acoustic disorientation of subterranean caverns, moving across slippery shale shelves without triggering balance checks and resisting the Shaken or Dazed conditions caused by the screeching echoes of subterranean bat swarms.
      • When passing through rotting fungal hollows choked with poisonous spores and marshy rot, the Scent-Veil passive insulates the avatar’s respiratory tract. The perpetual aroma of sweetgrass and alder smoke shields the user from ambient nausea and sensory-overwhelming environmental stenches, allowing the avatar to maintain total focus while allies gag and suffer concentration penalties.
    • Offensive Roleplay and Mechanics:
      • To clear a chokepoint guarded by subterranean chitinous crawlers or blind troglodytic predators, the avatar initiates the Silent Lure of the Velvet Trail. Tapping the ivory throat-plate silently, the user directs an irresistible mental whisper onto a precarious rock ledge suspended over an open chasm twenty feet away. The lead monster breaks its defensive formation, crawling toward the false sensory point to investigate, leaving its flank exposed to ranged bombardment or walking directly onto collapsing rock that drops it into the void.
      • While exploring ancient dwarven delves, the avatar employs the Somatic Beckon. Stroking the medallion while speaking the true name of the mountain range expands the pulse to a 60-foot radius. The enticing resonance draws hidden cavern wisps and water spirits from between stone cracks, causing small mineral veins and natural water springs to glow with faint violet light, outlining secret doorways and bypass routes.
      • In defensive standoffs against cavern bandits utilizing war hounds, the Alluring Resonance of the Hearth passive prevents the animals from lunging on sight. The player roleplays stepping forward with open hands, vocalizing a soft humming tone; the hounds hesitate, their aggressive growls dissolving into confused whines as the aura of harmless hospitality disarms their territorial hostility, granting advantage on Animal Handling checks to de-escalate the confrontation.
  • Maritime Vessels, Coastal Reefs, and Open Oceanic Transits:
    • Environmental Context and Atmospheric Dynamics: Saṃsāra’s oceanic currents are relentless, driven west by the gravitational pull of VaporSphere. Sea voyages involve navigating violent four-foot tides, jagged offshore barrier reefs, and pitching wooden caravels soaked in brine. Coastal fog frequently conceals predatory sea drakes, aquatic sirens, and coastal raiders who use grappling hooks to board merchant vessels under cover of darkness.
    • Defensive Roleplay and Mechanics:
      • During heavy coastal storms when the ship rolls violently across steep swells, the avatar’s Kinetic Poise ensures sure-footed stability. The player describes the avatar stepping lightly across algae-covered decking and pitching bowsprits without needing to grasp handrails, maintaining a stable casting platform while others are thrown prone.
      • When hostile boarding sailors swarm the deck, the collar’s +1 Armor Check bonus represents the ivory medallion turning aside low-angled cutlass thrusts and boarding pikes aimed at the neck and upper chest. The player narrates leaning into a boarding thrust, deflecting the iron blade off the polished ivory plate with a loud crack, leaving the enemy off-balance for a retaliatory counterattack.
    • Offensive Roleplay and Mechanics:
      • When an aquatic predator, such as a sea drake or giant eel, circles the ship’s rudder to cripple steering, the avatar uses the Silent Lure. Tapping the medallion, the user projects an enticing thought-pulse into the water off the port side, away from the vessel. The sea beast breaks its assault on the rudder and swims toward the designated ripples, providing the helmsman the opportunity to catch the wind and pull the ship out of the hunting zone.
      • While becalmed or navigating treacherous barrier reefs, the avatar conducts the Ritual Chanting of the Seductive Chorus upon the main deck. Chanting into the sea spray with the bronze bells ringing like ship chimes, the avatar beckons the drowned soul of an ancient navigator. The translucent shade rises from the foam, charmed by the respectful hospitality of the song, and reveals the exact, deep-water channel through the razor coral spires.
  • Primeval Rainforests, Acidic Mires, and Hostile Flora Enclaves:
    • Environmental Context and Atmospheric Dynamics: In the equatorial lowlands of Saṃsāra, dense rainforest canopies blot out the sky, trapping suffocating heat, humidity, and decaying swamp gas. Plant life is violently territorial; pitcher plants secrete flesh-dissolving acids, ironwood vines strangle passing creatures, and carnivorous marsh-reeds react to the slightest scent of biological prey.
    • Defensive Roleplay and Mechanics:
      • The Scent-Veil passive prevents swamp predators, such as giant marsh-cats and blood-wasps, from tracking the avatar through the canopy. The sweetgrass aroma completely conceals the scent of warm blood and sweat, allowing the party to walk beneath low-hanging branches without triggering attacks from scent-hunting arboreal predators.
    • Navigating slippery mangrove roots and sucking acidic mud flats, the Kinetic Poise passive prevents the avatar’s boots from sinking or sliding into acidic puddles, granting effortless grace across tangled roots.
    • If the avatar suspects a patch of jungle is infested with camouflaged strangler vines or trap-ferns, they trigger the Somatic Beckon. The silver-violet pulse rolls through the underbrush; the predatory flora, mistaking the frequency for the vibrations of approaching prey, twitches and snaps shut prematurely, allowing the party to identify and bypass the dangerous plants safely.
    • The +1 Armor Check bonus is roleplayed as the ermine-lined collar and ivory plate protecting the neck from descending venomous vipers and flesh-piercing jungle thorns as the avatar hacks through thick vegetation.
    • Offensive Roleplay and Mechanics:
      • When tracked by a massive, armored swamp crocodile or dire marsh-boar, the avatar utilizes the Silent Lure offensively. Tapping the ivory plate, the user directs the lure into the center of a giant carnivorous bladder-plant twenty feet away. The charging boar alters its trajectory, plunging its head into the carnivorous plant to investigate, leaving the beast entangled and incapacitated while the party advances.
      • Before entering an ancient ruined overgrown temple, the avatar initiates the Ritual Chanting. Carving rhythmic steps into the soft jungle loam while singing in deep harmonics, the avatar calls forth the spirit of an ancient tribal scout. The shade materializes amidst violet spores, pointing out hidden tripwires, concealed pit traps, and the location of the temple’s sacred cistern.
  • Industrialized Steam Metropolises, Clockwork Districts, and Cloud City Disks:
    • Environmental Context and Atmospheric Dynamics: In metropolitan hubs, mechanical production centers, and high-altitude Cloud Cities suspended beneath massive rotating disks, the setting is dominated by iron walkways, shrieking steam conduits, spinning gearworks, and sulfurous coal smoke. In Cloud Cities, inverted gravity spheres create disorienting urban architecture where buildings hang over open sky. Guard mastiffs, clockwork constructs, and street enforcers patrol these districts.
    • Defensive Roleplay and Mechanics:
      • Operating upon high-altitude gantry cranes or walking along inverted walkways beneath Cloud City disks, the Kinetic Poise passive cancels physical vertigo. The rhythmic chiming of the bronze seed-bells creates a grounding internal cadence, granting immunity to dizziness and allowing the avatar to make narrow ledge jumps across open sky without hesitation.
      • In soot-choked industrial alleys and smelting works, the Scent-Veil passive filters out acrid sulfur smoke and chemical fumes, protecting the avatar from respiratory distress and nausea.
      • During close-quarters street ambushes, the +1 Armor Check bonus represents the ivory throat-plate catching and turning aside garrote wires, brass knuckles, or dagger thrusts aimed at the carotid artery.
    • Offensive Roleplay and Mechanics:
      • When infiltrating a corporate warehouse guarded by vicious mastiffs, the avatar deploys the Silent Lure. Tapping the ivory plate wordlessly, the user throws a psychic lure into a dark alley corner. The guard hounds break off their patrol, trotting into the shadows to sniff the ground with intense curiosity for one full minute, allowing the avatar and their companions to scale the compound wall without raising an alarm.
      • In old city quarters built over forgotten catacombs, the avatar performs the Ritual Chanting of the Seductive Chorus. By throat-singing in harmony with the clanking resonance of nearby factory steam pipes, the avatar summons the lingering shade of a deceased municipal architect. Charmed by the song, the spirit divulges secret drainage conduits, unmapped vault entrances, and bypass codes for pneumatic security doors.
  • Volcanic Vents, Unstable Magma Flows, and Faultless Tremor Zones:
    • Environmental Context and Atmospheric Dynamics: On Saṃsāra, seismic activity occurs without tectonic plates, driven entirely by subterranean magma pressures stirred by the gravitational pull of VaporSphere. Active caldera fields are plagued by unpredictable ground rifts, ash plumes, sulfur dioxide vents, and rivers of boiling basalt. Pyroclastic predators, magma hounds, and earth spirits roam these barren fields.
    • Defensive Roleplay and Mechanics:
      • While crossing active tremor fields where the earth shakes violently without warning, the Kinetic Poise passive prevents the avatar from being knocked prone. The balanced weight of the amber beads helps the user adjust their stance instinctively with each earth tremor, maintaining an unbroken footing across narrow basalt ridges.
    • The Scent-Veil passive masks the avatar’s presence from magma-stalkers that hunt by tracking biological heat and sweat, while providing continuous respiratory relief against choking volcanic ash and toxic sulfur fumes.
    • The +1 Armor Check bonus deflects jagged shards of flying volcanic obsidian and hot pumice thrown into the air by miniature steam eruptions, the stone ricocheting harmlessly off the dense mammoth ivory throat-plate.
    • Offensive Roleplay and Mechanics:
      • When confronted by an aggressive magma hound or fire salamander advancing across a lava field, the avatar utilizes the Silent Lure. A silent tap on the collar directs an enticing impulse onto a brittle basalt crust suspended over a bubbling magma vent twenty feet away. The creature steps eagerly onto the false target, its weight breaking through the fragile rock, plunging it into the molten pool below or pinning it in place while the avatar moves past safely.
      • Before traversing an active caldera pass, the avatar executes the Somatic Beckon. Stroking the medallion while reciting the volcanic peak’s true name expands the sensory pulse across a 60-foot radius. The enticing wave causes hidden subterranean gas pockets, thin basalt crusts, and escaping sulfur vents to resonate with a high-pitched acoustic hum, revealing a safe, stable walking path across the burning fields.

Perception of Activation:

  • Five Senses Breakdown:
    • Visual Perception (Sight):
      • User Experience: The moment activation takes hold, the ambient lighting in the user’s peripheral vision softens, shifting from the harsh glare of day or the gloom of night into warm amber and rose-tinted hues. The incised cinnabar-filled spirals across the mammoth ivory throat-plate flare with a deep, pulsing crimson-violet glow that mirrors the rhythm of the user’s heartbeat. Shimmering ribbons of soft violet light bleed from the hidden Tier 1 crystal, tracing outward along the braided sinew cordage and illuminating the twenty-four amber beads with a rich inner fire. The dyed saffron caribou-hair tassels seem to trail faint, golden luminescent dust whenever the head or neck shifts. Under True Sight, the user perceives an expanding, petal-like sphere of pastel violet and rose weave-currents unfurling from their throat, gently washing outward to envelope everything within thirty feet.
      • Observer Experience: To an outside observer, the transformation centers upon the wearer’s throat. The ivory medallion suddenly illuminates from within, casting a soft, lantern-like roseate aura across the wearer’s chin, clavicles, and chest. The twelve cold-hammered bronze seed-bells catch the light, glinting with tiny sparks of amethyst luminescence as they sway. The white ermine fur lining seems to radiate a clean, crystalline brightness against the dark reindeer leather. Observers blessed with True Sight or magical detection behold a warm, inviting halo of harmonic energy radiating from the avatar, making their silhouette appear luminous, graceful, and remarkably captivating in the dimness of the wild.
    • Auditory Perception (Sound):
      • User Experience: The clinking of the bronze seed-bells and goose wing-bone cylinders ceases to sound like ordinary metallic percussion; instead, it harmonizes into a continuous, liquid resonance that echoes through the collarbones directly into the inner ear. The user hears an unbroken, multi-tonal cadence resembling clear meltwater tumbling over sun-warmed river stones, intertwined with the distant, melodious rustle of dry steppe grasses in a summer breeze. Beneath this rhythm, the user’s vocal cords feel accompanied by an ethereal resonance—a chorus of low-register hums and overtone whistles that harmonize with their own speech, lending an effortless, resonant depth to every spoken word.
      • Observer Experience: Bystanders hear a sudden, crystalline chiming that immediately cuts through ambient wind, rain, or wilderness noise without sounding harsh or alarming. The chime of the bronze bells strikes the ear with an unexpected sweetness, carrying a soothing musical tempo that commands attention. Those nearby describe hearing a subtle, multi-layered acoustic hum beneath the wearer’s voice, creating an auditory illusion that several invisible singers are gently humming in unison behind the avatar’s words.
    • Olfactory Perception (Smell):
      • User Experience: The activation triggers an immediate, comforting olfactory release as the conifer resin warms against the skin. The user’s nostrils fill with the clean, invigorating scents of braided sweetgrass, dried mountain sage, and crushed alpine willow bark, followed by the deep, rich aroma of cedarwood smoke and seasoned leather. This aromatic bloom instantly clears the sinuses, suppressing ambient foul stenches, swamp rot, or subterranean mustiness, replacing them with the scent of an ancient nomadic camp hearth.
      • Observer Experience: Anyone standing within a five-foot radius of the wearer experiences a sudden, refreshing draft of fragrant air. Even within stagnant marshes, damp stone dungeons, or sulfur-laden volcanic wastes, observers detect the clean, comforting scent of burning sweetgrass, wild mountain herbs, and dry cedar. This fragrance evokes instinctive feelings of a safe, welcoming shelter, putting companion and beast alike at ease.
    • Gustatory Perception (Taste):
      • User Experience: The user perceives a faint, pleasant flavor on the palate, reminiscent of wild mountain honey, dried cloudberries, and a light infusion of boiled pine needles. Saliva flows naturally, soothing dry mouth or the bitter residue of nervous tension and traveling rations.
      • Observer Experience: Observers do not taste the activation directly under ordinary circumstances; however, those in immediate physical contact during an active pulse report a slight, refreshing sweetness on the tongue, much like drinking fresh meltwater from an alpine stream.
    • Tactile and Somatosensory Perception (Touch):
      • User Experience: The sheared white ermine fur lining warms gently against the skin, delivering a deep, penetrating heat into the neck muscles, cervical vertebrae, and carotid pulse. Any cold stiffness, tension, or soreness in the neck and shoulders melts away instantly. The collar does not constrict the throat; rather, it feels light and buoyant, as though supporting the head with effortless grace. The counterweight of the amber beads and bronze bells against the upper chest establishes a distinct, grounding center of gravity that makes footwork feel balanced and unshakeable.
      • Observer Experience: Anyone brushing against the wearer feels a radiating, comforting warmth emanating from the collar. The surrounding air feels slightly pressurized with a gentle, static-like thrum that causes fine arm hairs to stand on end without inflicting pain or shock.
  • Multiple Extra-Sensory Perceptions:
    • Mind’s Eye Empathic Thermometer:
      • The activation immediately connects the avatar’s Mind’s Eye to the emotional currents of the surrounding environment. The user receives clear, instinctual readings of the emotional disposition of nearby living creatures. Predatory aggression, territorial fear, suspicion, or curiosity register within the user’s consciousness as distinct energetic frequencies, allowing the avatar to gauge an entity’s reaction before it moves or vocalizes.
    • Spiritual Affinity and Astral Beacon:
      • The thinning of the veil around the collar makes the spiritual border accessible. Disembodied ancestral shades, wandering osteo-spirits, and skittish nature wisps materialize in the user’s perception as soft, swirling forms of violet and rose mist. The avatar intuitively perceives which spirits are receptive to conversation and which are bound by lingering grief or territorial anger.
    • Kinetic Cadence Equilibrium:
      • The balanced rhythm of the fringe provides the user with an internal gyroscopic stabilization. The avatar gains an innate sense of physical equilibrium that aligns their footing with the surface beneath them. Shifting gravel, slippery ice, or pitching ship decks register as natural physical continuations of the body, allowing for fluid, uninterrupted movement without conscious calculation.
    • Bio-Olfactory Scent-Veil Shield:
      • The user perceives an expanding sensory bubble extending five feet from their core. Within this zone, the avatar feels their own biological signatures—such as the scent of adrenaline, sweat, and blood—being absorbed and overwritten by the sweetgrass field, granting full awareness of when they are masked from natural scent-trackers.
    • Terrestrial Life and Moisture Ping:
      • When initiating the wisp-beckoning pulse, the user feels a gentle tug in the solar plexus that points toward hidden underground water channels, hollow animal dens, and the resting places of camouflaged wildlife, translating environmental resonance into an intuitive spatial map.
  • Perspectives on Activation:
    • User’s Perspective:
      • For the wearer, activating the collar feels like stepping out of the harsh wilderness and into a warm, safe sanctuary filled with family and hospitable fire. Personal insecurity, panic, and conversational hesitation dissolve completely, replaced by an easy, charismatic confidence. The avatar feels genuinely hospitable toward the world; beasts and spirits are not perceived as monstrous enemies to be slain, but as proud neighbors awaiting proper ritual greetings. Vocal projection feels effortless, and circular dance movements flow with natural rhythm.
    • Observer’s Perspective:
      • To onlookers, the avatar undergoes an immediate change in presence. Their physical stance becomes grounded and fluid, the head held high with regal yet approachable poise. The gentle, musical chiming of the seed-bells and the soft glow at the throat create an aura of sacred authority. Hostile adversaries, suspicious elders, and territorial beasts instinctively lower their aggressive postures, feeling a subconscious urge to pause, listen, and observe the wearer rather than initiate violence.
  • Comprehensive Positives of Activation:
    • Natural De-escalation and Animal Pacification: The ambient allure and Silent Lure capability allow the user to disarm hostility and redirect dangerous beasts without expending combat resources or shedding blood.
    • Enhanced Social and Diplomatic Authority: Bestows an inherent advantage on all checks involving Persuasion, Animal Handling, and Diplomatic Negotiation when interacting with indigenous peoples, fey, and nature spirits.
    • Total Environmental Balance and Vertigo Immunity: The kinetic center of gravity eliminates balance loss across slippery ice, wet logs, or pitching ship decks, and grants complete immunity to the Shaken or Dazed conditions caused by vertigo or sudden environmental shifts.
    • Scent-Masking and Nausea Insulation: Conceals bodily odors from keen-nosed predators and insulates the user’s senses against foul environmental stenches like swamp gas, rot, and sulfur fumes.
    • Subterranean Hazard and Water Detection: Activating the Somatic Beckon reveals hidden springs, camouflaged game, and lurking predators within thirty to sixty feet.
    • Ancestral Communal Access: The Ritual Chanting feature enables the avatar to question local spirits and deceased travelers directly, securing critical topographical and tactical intelligence.
    • Unencumbered Torso Defense: Provides a reliable +1 Armor Check bonus that protects the vulnerable neck and clavicles without adding cumbersome weight.
  • Comprehensive Negatives of Activation:
    • Total Loss of Auditory Stealth: The continuous chime of the twelve bronze bells and bone cylinders rings out with every step or turn, imposing severe penalties on attempts to move silently.
    • High Visual and Astral Visibility: The glowing cinnabar spirals and rose-violet aura make the wearer clearly visible in darkness and project a bright beacon on the astral plane that attracts the attention of distant predators and astral sentries.
    • Persistent Aromatic Profile: While the sweetgrass scent conceals fear and sweat, it produces a distinct, sweet fragrance that sapient trackers and non-beast patrols can easily detect upwind.
    • Risk of Crystal Shatter: Channelling active spellcraft carries the constant baseline risk where rolling a 1 on a d20 results in the Tier 1 crystal shattering internally, stripping the collar of all magical functions until repaired.
    • Vulnerability During Extended Rites: The Seductive Chorus ritual requires continuous vocal chanting and circular dance steps for greater than six seconds; suffering physical damage or violent interruption forces an immediate concentration save or wastes the action and breaks the spiritual link.
    • Targeted Item Sunder Vulnerability: Because the collar openly glows and chimes at the throat, intelligent adversaries can easily identify it as an active arcane focus and target the neck slot, risking attunement deactivation and structural destruction of the mammoth ivory medallion.

Crafting Recipe: Spirit Collar of Entice

  • Materials Needed:
    • Primary Collar Foundation: One supple strip of vegetable-tanned reindeer leather, measuring two inches in width and twenty-two inches in length, selected from prime autumn-harvested hide free of insect bites or scarring.
    • Insulative Neck Lining: One strip of winter-harvested white ermine pelt, measuring two inches in width and eighteen inches in length, thoroughly degreased and dressed with brain-tan to ensure absolute softness against the throat.
    • Medallion Substrate: One solid oval plate of ancient mammoth ivory, measuring two and a half inches across, one and a half inches in height, and half an inch in thickness, smoothed of chalky exterior bark.
    • Arcane Catalyst: One coin-sized, intact Tier 1 Magic Crystal, weighing approximately one ounce, exhibiting clear violet and rose refraction under True Sight with no internal fractures or occlusions.
    • Acoustic Metal Elements: Four ounces of native river bronze sheet (nine parts copper to one part tin), cold-hammered to a uniform thickness of one and a half millimeters to fashion twelve clapperless seed-bells.
    • Resonant Bone Components: Six hollow cylindrical bone tubes, each one and a half inches in length, cut from the wing-bones of a tundra goose, cleaned of marrow and boiled in alkaline ash water.
    • Amber Beads: Twenty-four natural river-tumbled fossilized amber nodules, drilled with central one-millimeter suspension holes and polished to a translucent golden-orange luster.
    • Tassel and Cordage Fibers: A generous tuft of hollow white caribou throat-hair, forty feet of split saltwater-cured caribou leg sinew, and twenty-five feet of fine two-ply thread spun from wild stinging-nettle bast fibers.
    • Inlay Pigments and Botanical Dyes: Two ounces of powdered mineral cinnabar, four ounces of dried arctic rock-lichen (for saffron-yellow dye extraction), and three ounces of dried alder bark shavings.
    • Organic Binding Fluid: Two fluid ounces of viscous pine resin sap, extracted fresh from a living subarctic conifer using a syringe-style fluid collector, combined with four ounces of rendered caribou tallow for conditioning.
    • Consecration Smudge: A tightly braided smudge bundle composed of dried sweetgrass, white mountain sage, and subarctic spruce needles.
  • Tools Required:
    • Leatherworking Tools: A curved half-moon skiving knife, two sizes of diamond-point stitching awls, edge-burnishing bone slickers, and a rotary hole punch calibrated for one-millimeter and two-millimeter holes.
    • Bone and Lapidary Implements: Fine-point hand burins, small steel gouges, a coping bow-saw, a hand-cranked spindle drill with hardened iron bits, and fine sharkskin abrasives.
    • Metalworking Tools: Hand shears for sheet bronze, a small doming block with wooden dapping punches (for hollow bell shaping), a planishing hammer, and an anvil stake.
    • Biological Extraction Device: One standard syringe-style fluid collector fitted with a wide-gauge extraction needle to draw conifer sap without introducing air bubbles.
    • Heating and Compounding Apparatus: A soapstone melting crucible, a brass melting ladle, an adjustable charcoal brazier, and a tuned copper chime rod to verify acoustic harmonics.
  • Skill Requirements:
    • Leatherworking and Fur-Dressing: Minimum skill level of 5 in Leathercraft. The artisan must be proficient in skiving delicate hides, attaching fur linings without stiffening the collar, and sewing durable, concealed sinew saddle stitches.
    • Ivory and Bone Lapidary: Minimum skill level of 4 in Bone Carving. The crafter must know how to excavate a precise bedding cavity into mammoth ivory without cracking the antique grain, as well as incising microscopic cinnabar-inlay channels.
    • Metallurgy and Tinkering: Minimum skill level of 3 in Bronze Working. The smith must understand how to cold-work and cup river bronze sheet into hollow, clapperless seed-bells that ring with bright, clear acoustic frequencies upon physical impact.
    • Arcane Infusion and Enchantment: Minimum skill level of 5 in Arcane Crafting, plus an additional skill level equal to the tier rating of the resulting item (totaling a minimum skill requirement of 6). The artisan must be capable of channeling personal mana into the Tier 1 crystal, establishing an allure conduit, and binding the kinetic resonance of the bronze bells to the magical weave without triggering mana burnout.
  • Crafting Steps:
    • Step 1: Leather Curing, Dyeing, and Fur-Lined Collar Assembly:
      • Skive the edges of the two-inch-wide reindeer leather strip to a feathered taper using the half-moon knife.
      • Boil the alder bark shavings in rainwater to produce an astringent, reddish-brown tannin bath; steep the leather strip for six hours until it takes on a deep, rich chestnut hue, then rinse in clean stream water.
      • Rub rendered caribou tallow into the grain side of the leather while still damp to lock in suppleness and weather resistance.
      • Align the white ermine fur strip along the flesh side of the leather band, folding the leather margins slightly inward, and stitch the fur backing securely to the leather foundation using fine nettle thread and blind whip-stitches, ensuring no stitches pierce through the fur side to chafe the wearer’s neck.
      • Punch twelve evenly spaced one-millimeter suspension perforations along the bottom edge of the collar, and affix two braided leather ties with carved horn toggles at the terminal ends to secure the collar at the nape.
    • Step 2: Carving, Excavating, and Inlaying the Mammoth Ivory Medallion:
      • Saw the mammoth ivory block into a symmetrical oval measuring two and a half inches wide by one and a half inches high, keeping the workpiece wet to prevent friction burns.
      • On the front face, use fine-point burins to incise an elaborate, continuous spiral pattern depicting an open hearth flanked by expanding ripple rings, maintaining a constant groove depth of one millimeter.
      • On the reverse side of the ivory plate, gouge out a precise oval cavity three-eighths of an inch deep, carefully calibrated to receive the coin-sized Tier 1 magic crystal.
      • Drill four miniature angled anchoring holes through the rear perimeter of the medallion to allow sinew lashing to the leather collar.
      • Mix one ounce of warm pine resin with the powdered mineral cinnabar to create a thick, red paste; pack this paste into the carved front spirals, scrape away the excess, and polish the surface with sharkskin until the ivory gleams and the red lines stand out in sharp, clean contrast.
    • Step 3: Cold-Hammering and Tuning the Bronze Seed-Bells:
      • Using hand shears, cut twelve circular discs, each one inch in diameter, from the cold-hammered bronze sheet.
      • Place each disc over the hemispherical depression of the doming block, working the metal into a hollow, rounded dome using the wooden dapping punch and light hammer taps.
      • Form two matching domes into a hollow, enclosed spheroidal seed-bell, punching a narrow acoustic slit across the lower hemisphere and a one-millimeter suspension loop at the top.
      • Work-harden the metal through planishing to enhance acoustic clarity, and test each bell against a copper chime rod to verify that it emits a soft, clear chime rather than a muffled clink.
    • Step 4: Preparing Bone Tubes, Amber Beads, and Lichen-Dyed Tassels:
      • Cut the boiled goose wing-bones into six cylindrical tubes measuring one and a half inches in length, deburring the internal channels and buffing the exterior with bone ash.
      • Polish the twenty-four amber beads with tallow and a soft woolen rag until completely clear, sorting them into twelve matched pairs.
      • Simmer the dried arctic rock-lichen in soft water to yield a rich, saffron-yellow dye bath; immerse the tufts of caribou throat-hair into the liquor for two hours, rinse in cold water, and dry until fluffy.
      • Divide the yellow throat-hair into twelve distinct miniature tassels, binding the crown of each tassel with tightly wrapped sinew.
    • Step 5: Biological Resin Extraction and Compounding:
      • Using the syringe-style fluid collector, extract two fluid ounces of clear conifer sap from the trunk of a living alpine pine tree at dawn, keeping the chamber sealed to avoid dust contamination.
      • Transfer the sap into the soapstone crucible and warm it over low embers, blending in three drops of rendered tallow to maintain elasticity after setting.
      • Keep the mixture at a lukewarm, pourable consistency, ensuring the temperature remains well below boiling to preserve its organic bond strength.
    • Step 6: Crystal Seating, Bedding, and Arcane Weave Infusion:
      • Seat the coin-sized Tier 1 Magic Crystal into the rear recess of the carved mammoth ivory plate.
      • Pour the prepared warm pine resin around the margins of the crystal, bedding the stone completely to eliminate any movement or vibration.
      • The artisan channels their focused thought through their spell focus, directing a slow, continuous stream of mana into the crystal bed over twelve minutes.
      • The artisan observes the crystal via the Mind’s Eye until a soft, pulsating violet-and-rose aura stabilizes within the stone, harmonizing the crystal’s matrix with the resonant frequencies of the ivory plate and the surrounding organic resins.
    • Step 7: Assembly of the Kinetic Sensory Fringe:
      • Fasten the ivory medallion to the center of the leather collar using braided sinew thongs passed through the rear perimeter anchor holes, knotting them firmly against the leather foundation.
      • Thread twelve separate strands of braided sinew through the perforations along the lower margin of the collar.
      • Onto each outer strand, string two polished amber beads, one cold-hammered bronze seed-bell, and terminate with one saffron-dyed caribou-hair tassel.
      • Onto the central six strands directly beneath the ivory medallion, insert one goose-bone tube between the amber beads and the seed-bells to provide a hollow, wooden knocking counterpoint to the metallic chimes.
      • Tie off every terminal tassel with a locked half-hitch knot, sealing each knot with a tiny droplet of pine resin.
    • Step 8: Kinetic Balancing and Acoustic Harmonization:
      • Suspend the collar from a wooden neck mandrel and gently oscillate the assembly to simulate the physical movements of walking and circular ritual dancing.
      • Verify that the bronze seed-bells swing freely, striking against the bone tubes and amber beads in an unbroken, rain-like cadence without catching or tangling the dyed caribou tassels.
      • Adjust cord lengths and tassel balances so that a slight turn of the neck generates a delicate, whisper-like chime that remains pleasant and soothing to the ear.
    • Step 9: Consecration, Smudging, and Structural Verification:
      • Ignite the braided smudge bundle of sweetgrass, sage, and spruce needles within a clay brazier until a thick, fragrant smoke rises.
      • Pass the finished collar through the herbal smoke forty-nine times while speaking the ancient greetings of hospitality to the local land spirits, acknowledging Gaialilith’s domain over living flesh and spirit alike.
      • Allow the collar to absorb the fragrant oils until the aroma of sweetgrass and alder completely permeates the leather and ermine lining.
      • Roll a d20 to verify the final crafting outcome: a result of 2 through 19 confirms standard crafting success, yielding an item resilience rating of 10 and a maximum hit point pool equal to the wearing avatar’s base plus 10; a result of 20 imparts an exceptional harmonic attunement, bestowing a permanent +1 bonus on diplomatic negotiations with natural fey; a result of 1 represents a catastrophic failure of the resin matrix, causing the Tier 1 crystal to shatter into useless shards and requiring replacement of the catalyst.

Throat-Girdle of Honeyed Voice, Maiden Who Sowed Sweetgrass in Drift, and Great White Worm-Lord of Sunken Fjord

In the early time when the divine mother Gaialilith had newly gathered the broken debris of the heavens to knit the crust of the moon Saṃsāra, and the noon-lamp Helios stood motionless above the middle sea like a copper plate that refuseth to decline, the people were dropped out of the sky without shoes. They did rain down through the purple air like autumn chaff shaken from a sack, and their bodies struck the mud of the northern islands, yet their marrow was not broken, for the unseen hands of the moon-goddess did break their falling upon cushions of wet sedge. Howbeit, when they stood upon their two feet and wiped the sour peat from their nostrils, their brains were washed clean of past dwelling-places by the bitter wind of the divine forgetting. They knew not what names their fathers had shouted in the ancient wars of the lost worlds, nor did they know what prayers were lawful to turn away the teeth of the ice.

Now in that day, upon the island which the ancient scribes have rendered Dorset-of-the-Crying-Gulls, there lived a woman whose mouth could fashion only the sound Sirek-Who-Calleth-the-Small-Fowl. Her flesh was one that had been entered into by a wandering soul from the purgatory-clouds, wherefore her womb was shut and barren according to the law of the possessed avatars, and her wrists were thin like the dried willow branches of the second season. While the great-shouldered men of the huts did cast heavy bronze tridents into the gray surf and beat the walrus with clubs of whale-rib, Sirek sat in the doorway of the smoke-tent. Her fingers were ever playing with dried berries, bird-feathers, and strings of twisted grass, and when she opened her throat to breathe, she did not groan like the working men, but she made a soft whistling like the small yellow birds that run along the gravel when the sea goes down.

In the middle-season of that cold year, a great distress fell upon the people of Dorset. Out of the deep trenches of the outer sea, where the light of Helios never pierceth the brine and the tidal currents of the great round globe VaporSphere pull the salt water into roaring whirlpools, there arose that ancient abomination which the bad copyist hath named The-Great-White-Worm-Lord-of-the-Sunken-Fjord. This was a monster of the elder deep, having the length of six skin-boats, a skin of pale blubber upon which no barnacle could fasten, and a neck encircled with nine rows of gills that did vomit forth a black slime that curdled the waves. When this beast blew out its breath, the sea-fog became thick like sheep-grease, and no man could see the tip of his own spear. The monster laid its heavy belly across the mouth of the fishing bay, swallowing the salmon, the harbor seals, and the small boats of the hunters, so that the people sat in their turf huts with empty stomachs, listening to their small children gnaw upon scraps of boiled leather.

Then the mighty men of the clan arose, taking their long spears of fire-hardened spruce tipped with chipped slate and meteoric bog-iron. They took their hide-boats out into the greasy mist, beating upon the gunwales with their clubs and shouting the fierce battle-words of the ancient warriors who conquer by slaughter. But behold, the great white worm-lord did only roll its blind yellow eyes in scorn. It raised its paddle-tail and brought it down upon the water with a sound like the breaking of a glacier, shattering the wooden boats into little splinters and casting forty brave champions into the black whirlpools, where their avatars dissolved into showers of purple embers beneath the salt foam. The few who crawled back upon the pebble-beach wept with loud groans, saying: The sea hath no ears for our pride, and the grandfather of the deep will have our bones for his bed.

In that night, while the eclipse of VaporSphere turned the sky into the dark purple of a bruised lung, Sirek sat by the hearth-stone. The smoke of the peat was bitter, and there was not so much as a fish-tail left in the wooden kettle. She sat with her head between her knees, weeping because her hands were too weak to bend a bow or throw an iron lance.

And behold, while she wept, an ancestral breath—which the translator believeth to signify an osteo-shade or disembodied grandmother-ghost of the Chukchi wanderers whose flesh had turned to tundra silt three hundred turnings of the moon before—came through the smoke-hole of the hut. The ghost sat upon the clavicle-bones of Sirek, weighing no more than an armful of dry birch leaves, and it spoke into the small hollow beneath her ear.

The grandmother-ghost said these words in the rough, unpolished speech of the first hunters: O thou little crying reed with the empty spoon! Why dost thou send shouting men with sharp iron against the grandfather who was old when the moon was yet wet clay? Thou canst not frighten the ocean by shaking a fist, nor canst thou teach kindness to the sea-serpent by piercing his blubber with a needle. A beast that is old hath seen a thousand spears break upon his ribs, and his heart is turned to basalt. If thou wouldst have the gate of the bay opened and save the people from the gray death of the belly, thou must put away the spear and the bitter cry of war. Thou must take up the craft of Entice, which is the making of a honeyed tongue, an inviting fire, and a garment of sweet bells that coaxeth the fierce soul out of its anger into the warm lodge of peace.

Sirek inquired of the ancestral shade how a weak woman might weave such a harness of entice, and the ghost did breathe into her mind the complete measure of the work.

Therefore, Sirek arose before the red star stood high. She went not to the weapon-racks, but she took her bone scrapers and her horn spoons.

First, she went unto the storage-caches where the autumn hides were buried under stones, and she chose a two-inch strip of reindeer leather from the neck of a gentle hind that had died of peaceful age, steeping it in the red liquor of boiled alder bark and rubbing it with sweet tallow until it was softer than the lip of a nursing child.

Second, she took a white pelt from the winter ermine, dressing it with bird-brains and river water until it was like a cloud of snow, and she did sew this fur along the inner belly of the leather band with blind stitches of nettle cord, that the harness might warm the neck-arteries and give no pain to the throat when the head was turned.

Third, she went to the gravel-bars where the great tusks of the ancient mammoth-beasts lay half-buried in the silt. With a saw of wet sinew and sand, she cut a flat oval plate, scraping upon its front the nine circles of the expanding hearth-fire, and she filled the carved grooves with powdered red cinnabar mixed with the boiled pitch of living pine trees, so that the lines did shine like fresh arterial blood upon ivory. In the secret back of this plate, she hollowed out a bed and laid therein an uncut jewel of violet sky-glass, which was an alluring talisman of the first tier, dropped from the heart of an aurora.

Fourth, she took twelve small circles of native river bronze, beating them cold with a smooth hammer until they were round like little seed-pods, and she hung them upon strings of caribou sinew, alternating them with four-and-twenty beads of yellow sea-amber that smelled of ancient forests, and six hollow whistles cut from the wing-bones of the white goose. Between the bronze bells she tied small tufts of yellow hair plucked from the throat of the reindeer, dying them with the juice of saffron rock-moss until they danced in the air like the sparks of a dry cedar fire.

Lastly, she passed the whole work forty-and-nine times through the smoke of dried sweetgrass, until the leather, the fur, and the cordage smelled not of sweat or the grease of butchery, but of the sacred bower wherein the spirit-mothers sleep.

When Sirek did bind this collar around her neck, fastening the horn toggles at the nape of her hair, behold, a wondrous lightness entered into her bones. Her lungs, which had been tight with hunger and weeping, became wide and deep like the belly of a great skin-drum. The white ermine fur did warm her throat until her blood ran sweet and bold. The twelve bronze bells and the bone whistles did strike together with every breath, tinkle-shhh, chink-tock, making an acoustic sound like mountain meltwater running through dry gravel in the first sun of the spring-time. When she moved her head, the amber beads did catch the violet light of the sky, and her nostrils were filled with the clean aroma of sweetgrass and alder smoke, so that the smell of death and rot departed from her mind.

The rough men of the village laughed with loud, mocking barks, saying: Look upon Sirek, the useless girl with the crooked knees! She hath put on the bead-necklace of a dancer to go down to the shore! Doth she think the great worm-lord will eat her seed-bells for breakfast instead of her flesh?

Sirek answered them with no angry word, for the collar at her throat was humming into her collarbones, and her Mind’s Eye was filled with the soft purple light of the hearth. She walked down the shale slope unto the high cliff of black basalt that did hang directly over the deep pool of the fjord, where the water was black like squid-juice and the white monster lay coiled beneath the foam.

Sirek did not raise a shield, nor did she shout a challenge to awaken the monster’s liver to wrath. She stood upon the slippery edge of the sea-cliff, where the salt spray did fly into the air, yet her soft boots did not slip, for the amber counterweights against her chest did give her the balanced footing of the ritual dancer who cannot fall.

She raised her chin unto the green face of VaporSphere. She put her two fingers softly upon the cinnabar spirals of the mammoth ivory plate, and she made three light steps in a circle, turning her body so that the saffron caribou tassels fluttered like summer moths in the breeze. The bronze seed-bells gave forth their crystalline chime, ding-chink, ding-chink, a sound so clear and pure that it pierced through the thick sea-fog like a copper needle.

Then, drawing the cold air over the ermine fur of her throat, Sirek began the two-tone throat-chanting of the Evenk grandmothers. From her belly she brought forth the deep, humming drone that is like the purring of a great cat by the fire; and from the roof of her mouth she brought forth the high, silvery overtone that is like the crying of geese when they see the green sedge after a winter of clouds. She sang not of war, nor did she sing of slaying; she sang the hospitality-praise to the ancient spirits of the deep water. She sang the names of the clean rivers that feed the sea; she sang of the sweet fat of the reindeer; she sang the welcome to the lonely grandfather who hath lived long in the cold dark without a friend to praise his size.

Behold, when the song and the bells went forth over the black water, the great white worm-lord stirred in the ooze of the sea-bed. Its nine rows of gills opened wide, but they vomited no black slime; instead, they drank in the sound as a parched traveler drinketh water from an alpine rock. The smell of the sweetgrass and alder smoke drifted down upon the surface of the fjord, cutting through the grease of the fog.

Slowly, like an island rising from the bottom of the deep, the gigantic white head of the monster emerged from the black whirlpool. Its blind yellow eyes, which had looked upon forty iron spears with murderous malice, were wide and moist. It beheld the small girl standing upon the high cliff, wrapped in the soft halo of violet and rose-colored weave-light that poured from the ivory medallion at her neck. It heard the seed-bells chiming in their measured three-part rhythm, mimicking the joyous sound of spring thaw.

The monster did not roar. It did not strike the rock with its fluked tail. With a slow, wondrous grace, it swam toward the cliff, its six fathoms of white blubber gliding through the waves without throwing up a single drop of foam. It raised its enormous, pale snout until its chin rested gently upon the basalt ledge, three hand-breadths from the soft boots of Sirek. The breath that came out of its mouth-hole was no longer foul with rot, but smelled of clean ocean kelp and deep-sea brine.

The beast closed its yellow eyes. A sound came out of its chest—a low, rhythmic rumble that shook the basalt cliff, not with an earthquake of ruin, but with the deep contentment of a dog that hath found a warm hearth after forty days of blizzard. It lay its gigantic, ridged brow upon the stone, weeping two clear streams of oil that did calm the surface of the fjord for a league around.

Sirek did not run, nor did she draw a knife. She reached down her hand and stroked the smooth white skin between the beast’s breathing-vents, singing the final verse of the entice-chant into its ear. Through the Alluring Resonance of the collar, the beast knew that here was no conqueror come to steal its hide, but a guest who had set a table of music and sweet smoke in the wilderness.

The people of Dorset came creeping out of their turf huts, holding their spears with trembling hands, and their jaws hung down upon their breasts in astonishment. They saw the great terror of the northern sea lying docile like a fat calf upon the shore, while the weak girl with the ermine-lined collar sang softly above its snout.

From that hour, the white worm-lord became the guardian-brother of the clan of Dorset. It no longer blocked the salmon from the bay, but with its great body it did drive the fat herring and the seal-herds into the shallows where the skin-boats waited. It protected the mouth of the fjord from the sea-drakes and the black raiding-vessels of the southern islands; and whenever the sea-fog grew thick, Sirek would go down to the rocks and shake the bronze bells of her collar, and the great white lord would rise from the depths to lead the lost fishermen safely home through the treacherous reefs.

Sirek wore the collar of entice until her hair was white like the ermine fur beneath her chin, and when her appointed time was accomplished and her avatar dissolved into a great shower of rose-violet sparks, the elder craftsmen of the northern tribes did take the measure of her sacred torc. They carved the cinnabar spirals, they hammered the river bronze into the seed-bells, and they set the uncut violet crystals into the ancient ivory, even unto the four-hundred and nineteenth iteration, which is carried yet across the cold sea-ways and road-wagons of Saṃsāra.

The moral of the story is that the clenched fist which approacheth the world with iron, arrogance, and the lust for slaughter shall only awaken the wrath of powers that are vaster and more ancient than itself, whereas the heart that approacheth the wild beast, the stranger, and the deep spirit with the sweet lure of reverent hospitality, harmonious rhythm, and gentle beauty shall melt the coldest malice into lasting friendship and walk unharmed through the jaws of the most terrible perils.

Call of Cthulhu (7th Edition)

The Siberian Torc of Allurement

  • Item Classification and Physical Attributes:
    • Type: Unique Siberian Shamanic Regalia and Arcane Focus.
    • Form and Dimensions: A fur-lined collar of vegetable-tanned reindeer leather measuring two inches in width and twenty-two inches in length, weighing approximately two pounds.
    • Structural Materials: Tallow-cured reindeer hide, an interior lining of winter ermine pelt, an oval throat-medallion of carved ancient mammoth ivory with cinnabar-filled spiral incisions, an uncut violet-rose quartz catalyst bedded in pine resin, twelve cold-hammered native river-bronze seed-bells, twenty-four natural amber beads, six hollow goose wing-bone cylinders, and lichen-dyed saffron caribou throat-hair tassels.
    • Physical Protection: Grants 1 point of localized physical armor to the investigator’s neck, throat, and upper clavicles against piercing and slashing melee attacks; provides no protection against modern firearms or high-velocity ballistics.
  • Mental and Spiritual Toll:
    • Initial Binding Ritual: Attuning to the collar requires a successful Occult, Anthropology, or Art/Craft (Singing) roll during a one-hour solitary meditation, accompanied by the expenditure of 1 permanent Magic Point and an immediate Sanity check (0/1D3 Sanity loss) as the investigator’s psyche harmonizes with the living memory of the northern land spirits.
    • Mental Anchoring: The rhythmic, bell-like chime and grounding sweetgrass aroma reduce any Sanity loss suffered from sudden natural claustrophobia, environmental vertigo, or panic by 1 point (to a minimum of 0).
  • Passive Modifiers and Inherent Capabilities:
    • Aura of Hearth Hospitality: The ambient rose-violet resonance softens the suspicion of non-human entities. The investigator gains one Bonus Die on all Charm, Persuade, and Animal Handling checks made to coax, calm, or interact peacefully with indigenous fauna, skittish nature spirits, or traditional northern elders.
    • Sure-Footed Ritual Poise: The kinetic balance provided by the suspended amber beads and bronze bells counteracts physical instability. The investigator automatically succeeds on standard DEX checks made to maintain footing across slick permafrost, algae-slick rocks, or pitching watercraft.
    • Scent-Veil of Sweetgrass: The collar continuously diffuses a masking aroma of sweetgrass and alder smoke in a five-foot radius, neutralizing the scent of bodily sweat, blood, and adrenaline. Predatory creatures relying on scent gain no bonuses to track or ambush the investigator, and the wearer receives a +20% bonus to CON rolls made to resist nausea from environmental stenches.
  • Active Spells and Arcane Operations:
    • Silent Lure of the Velvet Trail:
      • Magic Point Cost: 2 Magic Points.
      • Casting Time: 1 combat round (executed as an instantaneous, wordless tap of the index finger against the mammoth ivory throat-plate).
      • Resolution: The investigator selects an unoccupied point on the ground up to 10 yards away and engages in an opposed POW roll against an aggressive predator, guard beast, or territorial entity. On a Regular Success, the target breaks off its attack or charge and moves toward the designated spot, sniffing the ground with intense curiosity for 1D6 combat rounds. On an Extreme Success, the distraction lasts for ten minutes.
    • Beckoning of the Hidden Wisp:
      • Magic Point Cost: 1 Magic Point.
      • Casting Time: 1 action (stroking the ivory plate while performing a rapid three-step circular turn).
      • Resolution: Emits a 15-yard expanding arcane pulse. For the next ten minutes, concealed natural water springs, camouflaged game animals, and benign nature spirits within the area are compelled to make faint movements or vocalizations, alerting the investigator to their presence.
    • Seductive Chorus of the Ancestral Shade:
      • Magic Point Cost: 5 Magic Points.
      • Sanity Cost: 1D3 Sanity points.
      • Casting Time: 10 minutes of uninterrupted throat-singing and circular dance movement, requiring a successful Art/Craft (Singing, Dance, or Occult) roll.
      • Resolution: The performance parts the veil, drawing forth the translucent shade of an individual who died within one mile of the site. Charmed by the song, the spirit materializes and willingly answers up to three specific questions regarding local hazards, historical occurrences, or regional terrain secrets. A Fumble (96-100) summons an enraged, predatory entity instead.
  • System Drawbacks and Inherent Vulnerabilities:
    • Continuous Auditory Clatter: The bronze seed-bells and bone tubes chime softly with every physical stride. Any Stealth check made to move silently suffers one Penalty Die unless the fringe is manually bound with cloth (which suspends the armor bonus and all active powers).
    • Catalytic Fragility: If an active spell roll results in a Fumble, the internal quartz catalyst fractures under energetic feedback. The investigator takes 1D3 points of damage to the throat from crystalline discharge, and the item loses all magical properties until repaired by an artisan.

Blades in the Dark

The Siren’s Torc of the Severed Wastes

  • Item Classification and Equipment Logistics:
    • Item Profile: Fine Arcane Implement / Rare Occult Vestment (Neck Slot).
    • Load Cost: 1 Load (Worn openly at the throat; difficult to conceal under high-collared attire due to the hanging bells and tassels).
    • Quality Rating: Tier I Fine Item (Functions at Tier II Quality when assessing Potency against ghosts, feral beasts, spirit-wells, and electroplasmic manifestations).
  • Protective Armor and Kinetic Stabilization:
    • Throat Deflection Armor: The scoundrel may mark standard Armor on their character sheet to completely absorb or negate physical harm targeting the neck or throat (such as garrote wires, beast bites, or low-angled blade thrusts).
    • Equilibrium Anchor: The wearer may mark standard Armor to cancel a consequence resulting from slipping, losing footing on wet docks or icy roofs, or suffering environmental vertigo.
  • Mechanical Rules and Action Modifiers:
    • Alluring Hospitality: When taking an action roll with Sway or Consort to charm, calm, or negotiate with non-human minds, guard animals, or unaligned ghosts, the scoundrel gains +1 Effect level. The target perceives the scoundrel as an honored guest rather than an intruder.
    • Silent Lure of the Velvet Trail:
      • Stress Cost: 1 Stress.
      • Resolution: The scoundrel taps the ivory throat-medallion without speaking, projecting an irresistible psychic whisper to a point within short distance. When rolling Sway or Prowl to bypass sentries, guard beasts, or roaming specters, the position is treated as Controlled; a success causes the target to abandon its post to investigate the false distraction for several minutes.
    • Beckon the Hidden Wisp:
      • Stress Cost: 1 Stress.
      • Resolution: The scoundrel strokes the medallion while executing a fluid circular step. When rolling Survey or Attune to locate hidden passages, unmapped water conduits, or concealed spirits, the scoundrel gains +1d and ignores darkness or light fog penalties.
    • Seance of the Seductive Chorus:
      • Stress Cost: 2 Stress.
      • Resolution: During a score or within downtime, the scoundrel initiates deep throat-singing accompanied by the chime of the bronze seed-bells. The scoundrel makes an Attune roll with +1 Effect to coax the lingering ghost or memory-echo of a deceased laborer, scout, or victim tied to the district into visible manifestation. The shade willingly provides actionable intelligence regarding escape routes, vault mechanisms, or enemy weaknesses before fading.
  • Complications and Operating Hazards:
    • Audible Chime Footprint: The bronze seed-bells and bone tubes clatter continuously with hurried movement. The scoundrel takes -1d to Prowl rolls when absolute silence is required, unless the fringe is taped down (which suspends the item’s defensive armor and magical functions while bound).
    • Electroplasmic Beacon: When inside an active ghost field or near a lightning barrier, the violet crystal flares brightly, advancing the district alert or spirit-tracker Danger Clock by 1 tick upon every active use.

Dungeons & Dragons (5th Edition)

Torc of the Ancestral Allure

  • Item Header and Properties:
    • Item Type: Wondrous Item, neck slot.
    • Rarity: Uncommon.
    • Attunement Requirement: Requires attunement by a bard, cleric, druid, monk, or ranger.
    • Armor Class Bonus: While wearing this torc and not wearing heavy armor, you gain a +1 bonus to Armor Class as the polished ivory medallion and kinetic wards deflect attacks aimed at the throat and torso.
  • Charges and Fuel Economy:
    • Resource Pool: The torc possesses 3 charges. It regains 1d3 expended charges daily at dawn as the embedded crystal absorbs ambient dawn light.
    • Fragility Threshold: When you expend the last charge from the torc, roll a d20. On a roll of 1, the interior crystal shatters into non-magical dust; the torc immediately loses all active properties and the +1 AC bonus, retaining only its utility as a fur-lined leather necklace until repaired by an artisan.
  • Inherent Passive Benefits:
    • Alluring Presence: You have advantage on Charisma (Persuasion) and Wisdom (Animal Handling) checks made to interact peacefully with beasts, fey creatures, and unaligned undead.
    • Kinetic Dancer’s Poise: You ignore non-magical difficult terrain caused by snow, ice, mud, and slick rocks. You have advantage on ability checks and saving throws made to avoid falling prone or suffering environmental vertigo.
    • Scent-Veil: The torc emits an aura of sweetgrass and smoked cedar in a 5-foot radius. Creatures that track by scent have disadvantage on Wisdom (Perception) and Wisdom (Survival) checks made to track or detect you, and you have advantage on saving throws against effects that inflict the Poisoned condition via inhaled vapors or stench.
  • Active Magical Abilities:
    • Velvet Trail Lure (1 Charge):
      • Action Economy: 1 Action.
      • Operational Method: You tap the ivory throat-medallion silently, designating an unoccupied point you can see within 30 feet.
      • Resolution: A beast or monstrosity with an Intelligence of 3 or lower within 30 feet of that point must make a DC 13 Wisdom saving throw. On a failure, the creature is compelled to walk over to the point and spend 1 minute sniffing the ground with intense curiosity. It ignores you and your allies during this time unless it or its companions take damage.
    • Beckon the Hidden Wisp (1 Charge):
      • Action Economy: 1 Bonus Action.
      • Resolution: For the next 10 minutes, you emit an enticing psychic frequency in a 30-foot radius. Natural water sources, camouflaged beasts, and invisible fey within the area emit a soft acoustic chime, revealing their exact locations to you.
    • Seductive Ancestral Chorus (2 Charges):
      • Action Economy: 10-Minute Ritual.
      • Operational Method: You perform ceremonial two-tone throat-singing while swaying in time with the bronze bells.
      • Resolution: You cast speak with dead (spell save DC 13) without requiring material components or an intact corpse. The rite summons the translucent shade of an intelligent creature that perished within 300 feet of the site within the past century. Drawn by the hospitable song, the spirit materializes and willingly answers up to three questions truthfully based on its knowledge in life.
  • Limitations and Complications:
    • Auditory Footprint: The hanging bronze bells and bone tubes chime softly during movement. You have disadvantage on Dexterity (Stealth) checks that rely on moving quietly, unless you spend an action to bind the tassels and bells with cloth (which suspends the AC bonus and all active features while bound).

Knave (2nd Edition)

Sirek’s Ermine Torc

  • Item Classification and Gear Logistics:
    • Item Category: Worn Relic / Protective Neckwear (Neck Slot).
    • Inventory Slots: Occupies 1 Item Slot.
    • Armor Defense: Provides +1 Armor Defense to the wearer’s total Armor rating, as the curved mammoth ivory medallion and defensive wards assist in turning aside physical attacks.
    • Durability and Quality: Possesses 3 Quality points. If the wearer suffers a critical hit or direct sunder attempt targeting the head or throat, they may choose to sacrifice 1 Quality point from the torc to absorb 5 points of incoming physical damage. At 0 Quality, the cordage breaks and the ivory plate splits, rendering the relic non-functional until repaired by a leatherworker or bone carver during downtime.
  • Inherent Passive Benefits:
    • Dancer’s Balance: The wearer automatically succeeds on any Dexterity or Agility saving throw made to maintain footing across slippery ice, wet logs, pitching ship decks, or sucking mud.
    • Beast Hospitality: Mundane animals and wild beasts treat the wearer as an unthreatening presence. The referee treats all initial reaction rolls for natural beasts as one step friendlier, and beasts will not attack unless the wearer initiates violence or threatens their young.
    • Sweetgrass Veil: The wearer is masked from scent-tracking beasts and cannot be tracked by smell. The wearer gains advantage on Constitution saves against foul stenches, toxic spore clouds, and nauseating gases.
  • Relic Powers and Daily Exploits:
    • Velvet Trail (1/Day):
      • Action Economy: 1 Combat Round.
      • Operational Method: The wearer taps the ivory medallion silently, directing an enticing mental whisper to a point within near range (40 feet).
      • Resolution: One predatory animal or wild monster must make a Wisdom save. On a failed save, the creature breaks off its attack and wanders over to the designated point to sniff the ground for 1 exploration turn (10 minutes), ignoring the party unless harmed.
    • Wisp Beckoning (1/Day):
      • Action Economy: 1 Action.
      • Resolution: The wearer turns in a rapid three-step circle. For 1 exploration turn, all hidden natural springs, concealed game animals, and minor nature spirits within near range begin to glow with a faint violet outline.
    • Ancestral Seance (1/Day):
      • Action Economy: 1 Exploration Turn (10 minutes).
      • Operational Method: The wearer performs deep throat-singing in harmony with the clinking bronze bells.
      • Resolution: A translucent spirit of a departed nomad or traveler rises from the earth. The referee must answer two direct questions regarding regional hazards, dungeon shortcuts, or the weaknesses of local monsters truthfully, based on what the spirit knew in life.
  • System Drawback:
    • Audible Chime: The twelve bronze seed-bells and bone tubes clatter continuously with normal stride. Any attempt to sneak or move silently while wearing the unrestrained torc automatically fails or suffers a severe penalty at the referee’s discretion. Tying down the chimes silences the noise, but suspends the +1 Armor Defense bonus and all daily relic powers until untied.

Fate Core and Fate Condensed

The Enticing Collar of the Hearth-Fire

  • Core Aspect:
    • Name: Alluring Torc of the Tundra Spirit-Singer
    • Description: A ceremonial neck-collar crafted from chestnut-dyed reindeer hide and sheared white ermine fur, mounting an ancient mammoth ivory medallion with red cinnabar-inlaid spirals over an embedded Tier 1 violet-rose crystal. The collar is trimmed with a cascading lower fringe of twelve cold-hammered bronze seed-bells, twenty-four amber beads, six goose-bone tubes, and saffron-dyed caribou throat-hair tassels that release an enduring aroma of sweetgrass and alder smoke.
  • Invocation and Compel Dynamics:
    • Invoking the Aspect: A character may spend a Fate Point (or use a free invoke) when engaging in diplomatic negotiations with wild beasts, fey, or lingering ancestral shades; performing balance checks on treacherous ice or pitching ship decks; or attempting to project an aura of harmless, hospitable sanctuary.
    • Compelling the Aspect: The gamemaster may offer a Fate Point to compel this aspect when the delicate chiming of the bronze seed-bells gives away a hidden infiltration position, when the fragrant sweetgrass scent draws predators upwind, or when a volatile, possessive spirit becomes obsessively captivated by the wearer’s song.
  • Protective Value and Stunts:
    • Throat-Guard Armor:
      • Mechanics: The curved mammoth ivory medallion and dense leather band provide Armor:1 against physical melee strikes, garrote strangulation attempts, or beast bites directed at the wearer’s neck and upper torso.
    • Alluring Hospitality of the Hearth:
      • Mechanics: The collar projects an ambient field of spiritual warmth. The wearer gains a +2 bonus on Rapport or Empathy rolls when interacting socially, establishing rapport, or de-escalating hostility with natural beasts, primal fey, or unaligned ancestral shades.
    • Kinetic Poise of the Ritual Dancer:
      • Mechanics: The balanced counterweight of the amber beads and bells acts as a stabilizing gyroscope. The character gains a +2 bonus to Athletics rolls to Overcome physical balance hazards across black ice, slick mud, narrow ledges, or tossing sea vessels. Furthermore, the character cannot be knocked prone by mundane environmental movement.
    • Sweetgrass Scent-Veil:
      • Mechanics: The diffused sweetgrass aroma masks physical body odors. Creatures attempting to track or detect the wearer through scent suffer a -2 penalty to Notice. In addition, the character gains a +2 bonus to Physique rolls to resist the nauseating effects of environmental stenches, swamp gas, or rotting carrion.
    • Silent Lure of the Velvet Trail:
      • Mechanics: Once per scene, the character may spend a Fate Point and tap the ivory throat-medallion without speaking, directing a psychic whisper to an unoccupied point within one zone. The player rolls Rapport or Deceive against the Will of a single aggressive beast or wild creature in that zone. On a success, the character creates the situation aspect Distracted by the Velvet Whisper on the target with one free invoke (two on a style). The target abandons its charge to investigate the spot for the duration of the scene, refusing to attack unless harmed.
    • Seductive Ancestral Chorus:
      • Mechanics: By taking ten minutes of downtime to perform throat-singing in time with the chiming seed-bells, the character may part the local veil. The player spends a Fate Point and rolls Lore or Rapport with a +2 bonus to summon an ancestral shade tied to the area. On a success, the spirit provides two distinct, truthful pieces of forgotten lore, topographical shortcuts, or monster weaknesses before fading.
  • Mechanical Drawback:
    • Acoustic Revealing: The bronze seed-bells and bone cylinders chime with every step. Any Stealth roll made to move silently suffers an automatic -2 penalty unless the wearer takes an action to wrap the fringe tightly with cloth, which suspends all active abilities and the armor value while bound.

        • Success: The creature hesitates, becoming Stunned 1 as its predatory trajectory is interrupted.
        • Failure: The creature breaks off its current aggression and moves toward the designated spot, spending 1 minute sniffing the ground with intense curiosity. It ceases hostile actions unless it or its companions take damage.
        • Critical Failure: As failure, but the duration extends to 10 minutes, and the creature regards you as an unthreatening neutral entity.
    • Beckon the Hidden Wisp (Two-Actions):
      • Traits: Concentrate, Manipulate, Primal.
      • Frequency: Twice per day.
      • Effect: You stroke the ivory plate while executing a fluid circular turn. For 10 minutes, an enticing primal frequency expands across a 30-foot emanation. Hidden freshwater sources, camouflaged wildlife, and minor nature spirits within the area begin to softly chime and emit faint violet light, revealing their exact locations.
    • Seductive Ancestral Chorus (Exploration Activity, 10 Minutes):
      • Traits: Auditory, Concentrate, Exploration, Primal.
      • Frequency: Once per day.
      • Effect: You perform continuous two-tone throat-singing in harmony with the bronze seed-bells. This functions as the talking corpse spell, but rather than requiring an intact body, you can call forth an ancestral shade from the soil, stone, or water where an intelligent creature died within the past century. Drawn by the hospitable song, the spirit materializes and answers up to three questions truthfully based on its knowledge in life.
  • System Drawbacks and Operating Penalties:
    • Audible Chime Noise: The hanging bronze bells and bone cylinders clatter with physical movement. You take a -2 item penalty to Stealth checks to Sneak unless you spend 1 minute tying down the chimes with cordage (which suspends the circumstance AC bonus and all active abilities while bound).

    • Kinetic Equilibrium: The character receives a +2 bonus to Athletics rolls made to maintain balance, resist being knocked Prone, or recover from sudden physical vertigo.
    • Aura of Hearth Hospitality: The character gains the Charismatic Edge (+2 to Persuasion rolls) when interacting socially with wilderness tribes, nature shamans, elemental spirits, and wild beasts.
    • Sweetgrass Mask: Opponents tracking the wearer by scent suffer a -2 penalty to their Notice or Survival rolls. In addition, the wearer gains a +2 bonus to Vigor rolls made to resist nauseating environmental stenches, toxic swamp gases, or inhaled foul odors.

    • Beast Friend (SWADE Core Rules – Velvet Trail Trapping):
      • Power Points: Variable (1 point for Size -2 to Size 0, up to 3 points for Size 3).
      • Range: Smarts.
      • Duration: 10 minutes.
      • Trapping: The user executes a wordless tap against the ivory medallion, projecting a psychic whisper to an unoccupied spot within range. • Duration: 10 minutes of uninterrupted circular dancing and throat-singing.

  • Complications and System Drawbacks:
    • Audible Clatter Profile: The twelve bronze seed-bells and bone tubes chime with every physical stride. The wearer suffers a -2 penalty to all Stealth rolls involving quiet movement unless the chimes are bound with cloth (which suspends the armor bonus and all active powers).
    • Backlash Risk: Rolling a Critical Failure (a 1 on both the Arcane Skill die and the Wild Die) when triggering an active power causes the internal crystal to overheat, dealing 2d4 non-lethal damage directly to the wearer’s neck, inflicting the Stunned condition from psychic shock, and disabling the device until a long rest is completed.

Shadowrun (Sixth World)

Talismanic Choker of the Arctic Siren

    • Item Type: Enchanted Telesma / Shamanic Sustaining Focus (Manipulation or Health) or Dedicated Qi Focus.
    • Focus Rating: Force Rating 2.
    • Physical Form: Hand-tailored reindeer leather collar lined with shaved winter ermine fur, mounting a central carved mammoth ivory medallion with cinnabar-inlaid spiral channels, concealing an uncut violet-rose orichalcum-infused quartz catalyst. Suspended from the lower margin is a sensory fringe of twelve cold-hammered native bronze seed-bells, twenty-four river-tumbled amber beads, six goose-bone tubes, and saffron-dyed caribou throat-hair tassels.
    • Availability: 4 (R) (Classified as restricted cultural regalia; monitored closely by Siberian and Yakut awakened syndicates).
    • Suggested Market Value: 18,000 Nuyen (fences and talismongers adjust baseline pricing based on background counts, street demand, and buyer gullibility).
    • Karma Cost to Bind: 12 Karma (calculated as Focus Rating 2 multiplied by 6).
  • Passive System Modifiers and Tactical Profile:
    • Defense Rating Bonus: Adds +1 to the wearer’s Defense Rating (DR) against physical attacks targeting the head, neck, and upper torso, as the dense ivory plate and reinforced leather turn aside grazing blades, shrapnel, and garrote attempts.
    • Permafrost Kinetic Poise: The balanced counterweight of the amber beads and seed-bells grounds the wearer’s center of gravity. The character gains a +1 dice pool bonus on Athletics tests undertaken to maintain balance, cross ice, avoid falling, or resist forced knockdown maneuvers on slippery surfaces or pitching watercraft.
    • Empathic Hearth Hospitality: When performing Animal Handling tests or attempting non-violent social influence against unaligned paracritters, wild beasts, or nature spirits, the wearer gains 1 point of Edge that must be spent immediately on the interaction test.
    • Sweetgrass Scent-Mask: The continuous diffusion of sweetgrass and alder smoke conceals bodily sweat, adrenaline, and fear toxins. Critters relying on scent to track or ambush the user suffer a -2 dice pool penalty on Perception tests. The wearer also gains a +2 dice pool bonus to resist the nauseating effects of environmental stenches, gas grenades, and sewer odors.
  • Active Magical Operations:
    • Silent Velvet Lure:
      • Action Economy: Minor Action to focus intent, followed by a Major Action to execute a silent downward finger tap against the ivory medallion.
      • Operational Method: The focus transmits an inaudible psychic whisper to an unoccupied point within 10 meters, projecting a sensory illusion of fresh prey, water, or bedding.
    • Resolution: The magician rolls Magic + Sorcery (or Animal Handling) opposed by the target beast’s Willpower + Intuition. On net hits, the beast breaks off its aggressive charge or alert status and moves toward the targeted point, sniffing the ground with intense curiosity for a number of combat turns equal to the net hits, refusing to initiate combat unless attacked.
    • Beckon Hidden Wisps and Water:
      • Action Economy: Major Action.
      • Operational Method: Stroking the ivory medallion while executing a three-step circular turn releases an enticing arcane pulse across a 15-meter radius.
      • Resolution: For 10 minutes, the user instinctively senses the precise locations of camouflaged wildlife, subterranean water lines, and unmanifested nature spirits as soft acoustic tones echoing through the focus.
    • Seductive Ancestral Calling:
      • Action Economy: Extended Ritual requiring 10 continuous minutes of uninterrupted throat-singing while swaying in time with the bronze seed-bells.
      • Operational Method: The caster projects an alluring acoustic resonance into the local astral background to coax forth the lingering shade of a person who perished within the district.
      • Resolution: The caster rolls Conjuring + Magic against a threshold of 3. On a successful test, the spirit materializes astrally, speaking in soft murmurs to the caster to answer up to three specific inquiries regarding local terrain shortcuts, structural layout, or hostile security patrol routes.
  • Operational Hazards and System Drawbacks:
    • Acoustic Signature and Stealth Impairment: The suspended bronze seed-bells and bone tubes chime softly with physical movement. Any Stealth test attempted to move quietly suffers an automatic -2 dice pool penalty unless the fringe is manually bound with tape or cloth (which suspends the Defense Rating bonus and all active powers).
    • Astral Beacon: The collar projects an alluring, pale-violet and rose astral aura that makes the wearer distinctly visible to astral sentries, spirits, and dual-natured critters via Astral Perception.
    • Focus Burnout: If the collar is targeted by a direct physical or astral sunder attack, or if the user takes severe drain damage equal to or exceeding their Essence, roll 1d6. On a result of 1, the quartz core fractures, rendering the focus inert until repaired by an artisan.

        • Success: The creature hesitates, becoming Stunned 1 as its predatory trajectory is interrupted.

        • Critical Failure: As failure, but the duration extends to 10 minutes, and the creature regards you as an unthreatening neutral entity.
    • Beckon Hidden Wisps (Two Actions):
      • Traits: Concentrate, Manipulate, Sensory.
      • Frequency: Twice per day.
      • Effect: Stroking the medallion while executing a fluid circular turn releases an enticing pulse across a 30-foot emanation. For 10 minutes, hidden water tables, camouflaged alien fauna, and minor spirit wisps begin to chime softly and emit faint violet outlines, revealing their locations.

      • Traits: Auditory, Concentrate, Exploration, Primal.
      • Frequency: Once per day.
      • Effect: You perform continuous two-tone throat-singing in harmony with the bronze seed-bells. The manifestation remains for 5 minutes and answers up to three specific inquiries regarding local topography, hazardous terrain, or predatory beast nests.
  • Environmental and System Drawbacks:
    • Audible Chime Noise: The bronze seed-bells and bone cylinders clatter with physical movement. You take a -2 item penalty to Stealth checks to Sneak unless you spend 1 minute tying down the chimes with cordage (which suspends the circumstance AC bonus and all active abilities while bound).

    • Psitech Receptive Matrix: If the wearer possesses an active Psionic Strength Index (PSI) score, the torc acts as a passive psi-insulator, reducing the PSI cost of telepathic or animal empathy checks by 1 point (to a minimum of 1).
    • Scent-Masking Veil: The continuous diffusion of sweetgrass oils masks physical pheromones and sweat. Organisms tracking the user by scent suffer a DM-2 penalty on Recon checks. The wearer also receives a DM+2 bonus on END checks made to resist nausea from toxic atmospheres, swamp gas, or organic rot.
  • Active Device Capabilities:
    • Velvet Trail Beast Lure:

    • Life and Water Acoustic Sweep:
      • Psionic or Technical Requirement: Expends 2 points of PSI (or requires an Average [8+] Recon check).
      • Activation Time: 1 significant action.

    • Ancestral Psychometric Echo:
      • Psionic Requirement: Usable only by a character with an active PSI rating; requires expending 3 points of PSI and 10 minutes of uninterrupted throat-singing in harmony with the bronze seed-bells.

  • System Complications and Physical Drawbacks:
    • Inescapable Acoustic Footprint: The hanging bronze bells and bone cylinders clatter with every physical stride. The wearer suffers an automatic DM-2 penalty to all Stealth checks involving quiet movement.
    • Sensor Traceability: The ambient psi-resonance emitted by the internal crystal can be detected by specialized Imperial sensor drones and psionic detection arrays at up to triple the normal detection range.

On a success, a translucent spirit emerges from the mist and answers up to three specific questions concerning regional landmarks, hidden mountain trails, or beast dens that occurred in the vicinity.
  • System Drawbacks and Inherent Weaknesses:
    • Acoustic Revealing: The bronze seed-bells and bone tubes cannot be completely silenced while the collar is worn loose.
