What everyone is taught on Saṃsāra

On the world of Saṃsāra, Saṃsāra is neither a religion nor a philosophy. It is just the name the people (avatars), call the world they are on.

In the vast expanse of the multiverse, every deity bows to the will of Gaialilith, the goddess of Saṃsāra, whenever they find themselves within or near the world of Saṃsāra. This phenomenon arises from the fact that the very fabric of this world, encompassing all living and inanimate entities, is under the dominion of a conscious elemental entity known as Gaialilith.

The world of Saṃsāra has 73 large island like continents. Also, there are many floating islands both on the sea and in the sky. Also, flying cities along with many large underwater habitats.  Each is ruled by a monarchy. The monarchy owns all. Everyone else rents from the monarchy in the form of taxes. This goes to pay for the military, roads, government infrastructure, public parks, public works, and other utilities which in turn benefits the people.

The guild in each location is the workers union which finds jobs for everyone that wants work. There are many sub-guilds and factions that also offer work. If this, is not enough, there are many independent people that will offer work to those they think are qualified or at least are willing to take the quest.

Trade between the island nations is mostly by large sailing vessels. Trade between cities is mostly by covered wagon. There are faster ways for goods to travel but this cost more. There are also air ships and griffons to ride for quick short distances. Teleportation is used but it takes enormous amounts of magical power. Most of this kind of travel is by hearthstone to return home after a day of adventuring.

Adulthood in the world of Saṃsāra is when the avatar is capable of reproducing. The legal rights that are obtained with adulthood can be altered by cultural rules within local societies. Before an avatar reaches adulthood, they have no magic. Killing a non-magic (mundane) child is considered a heinous crime in most cultures on Saṃsāra.

Most creatures, from the smallest insects to the largest monsters, have magic after they reach adulthood. Magic can only advance so far without being possessed. This is why inviting a soul to inhabit a creature is considered an advantage on Saṃsāra.

No one can direct magic without an item for focus. Magic is the power of thought in the world of Saṃsāra. Thought assists in manipulating the fabric of reality and directs the flow between the caster and the magical forces they wield. There are three types of spell casting: Silent, Somatic, and Ritual. Chanting spells increase the power that is invoked by the spell. This is because it helps to manifest the thought behind the spell. Even the power of thought is not enough without a spell focus. Most spells are tied to an item that the spell is stored in, and it becomes the spell focus of the magic.
