Creation of materials
Dust and clouds of gas appeared in the void.
Coalesced locally into a star, planet, and moon.
Age of elementals
Fire, earth, wind, and water.
Molten bubbling oceans of elements cooled to form a crust of earth covering the outer shell of the moon. Great winds of power flowing in the atmosphere became aware of there surroundings and began to control their movement. Cauldrons of liquid earth became aware of the winds above and began to battle with them as they passed. Fire born from these battles became aware of the other raging elements and joined in the battle. As the moon cooled more, there was ice that fell from the sky and then melted into water that also became aware of the other elements and began to influence the battles.
The awareness grew in the elements until many sentient lifeforms learned of their place within this material plane. They fought, parleyed, and grouped into factions that created areas of mass destruction on the surface of the moon. As they fashioned and emerged in their factions there grew a memory of time, space, and dimensions. As many factions merged and fought with other factions there came a point of possibility that could not be contained in the material plain of existence. A great explosion of thought and power made its debut into the multiverse as a new god was born.
The birth of Gaialilith created a continuing fracture in time and space throughout many dimensions. Zillions of tiny molts of possibility were scattered throughout the multiverse which give Gaialilith the ability to scry upon a vast number of dimensions, times, and locations therein. Around the moon, time continued to fracture which allowed all of time to be spied upon by Gaialilith. This also made the space around the moon hazardous to any object that might navigate through the area.
As Gaialilith grew in intellect and other abilities, her essence connected and became bound to the moon. She became the world itself. Small tendrils of any consciousness in the vicinity of the moon fed into her being as her status as a god grew.
She began to tame the elementals on the moon as she was able to marginally bring microscopic life to Saṃsāra.
Time passed…
Age of microscopic life
Microbes of life began to reproduce on the moon as they ate, dissolved, and eventually evolved into multicellular life forms. With the help of Gaialilith, life forms began to absorb magic into their bodies creating new and numerous forms of life. They began to absorb heat and light from their local star to grow and populate the moon. Magic grew and waned as life began to remember, then to forget the knowledge of existence itself.
Small non-intelligent and simple creatures, fungi, oozes, insects, arachnids, and other invertebrates found their way through this existence to slowly crawl among the material of the moon.
Time passed…
Age of Plants
Somewhat overlapping other ages, plants appeared within the ocean and spread upon the clumps of land masses dotted upon the shell of the moon. Plants became the dominant from of life upon the moon as time passed…
Many different chemicals are produced among the plants some of which will heal while others kill specific types of creatures that touch them. A war of sorts, between plants and all other types of life is forever on going.
Age of Animals, Beast, and Monsters
Larger forms of life developed to exert their will upon other forms of life.
See the “Tale of Gaialilith’s Menagerie”.
Time passed…
Current age of Heroes
Gaialilith, being able to see all dimensions could see into the sea of purgatory throughout all of time. There she saw the souls that were asleep and waiting to be reborn to life again. She could see the brightness of the soul as those that had burned brighter in life still retained the memory of magic. By following the connections from other souls in the sea of purgatory she could perceive which of the brighter souls were considered heroes by the sleeping souls.
Gaialilith choose to remain mostly in the background as the reincarnated races populated the moon. She enjoyed bringing back the souls of heroes and watching to see what they would do. She did this so much that the moon began to become overpopulated. When she realized this, she slowed the process down to maintain a level population.
Noticed by the other gods
The heroes of the past still believed in the gods of their memory. The called upon those gods and the gods answered their prayers. As this happened over and over the gods noticed the new location that the prayers were coming from. Many of the gods became interested and came to see this new place. They were met by Gaialilith which told all the gods, “This is a world of balance. The heroes of the innocent dead will be given another chance on this world but those that have been responsible of killing in mass will not be allowed on this world.”
