Magic requires a conduit which is used as a focus for the power of thought to flow through. This conduit is in the form of an object that must exist in the world. In most cases this is in the form of an item that may be carried by an avatar.
A “rule breaker” is:
- Generally: Someone who intentionally disregards, challenges, or defies established rules, laws, or social norms.
- Positive connotations: Rule breakers can be innovators, pioneers, and change-makers who shake up the status quo. They might challenge outdated systems or create new ways of thinking.
- Negative connotations: Rule breakers can also be reckless, inconsiderate, or destructive when they break rules without a good reason or cause harm.
Rule breakers do not get around the requirement of a conduit of magic. They just use objects that others do not think of as an object. Examples would be:
- “Vocal cords” to cast a spell.
- “Hand jesters” to cast a spell.
People that break (what most think of as) the rules of magic must train their own body part to be the object used as a conduit of magic.
