Animal Spirit 27 of the Absentee

Lore: Belonging to the Nivkh community, this amulet is a legendary talisman passed down through generations. Crafted in times of ancient ritual, the “Animal Spirit 27 of the Absentee” was initially made for hunters who often found themselves far from the pack, disconnected and unguarded. The animal spirits residing in this amulet were chosen to fill that absence with their spiritual presence, creating a symbiotic relationship with the user.

Recipe: Crafting the Animal Spirit 27 of the Absentee

  • Ingredients:
    • One chunk of petrified wood (approx. 3 inches in diameter)
    • Small animal bones (rabbit, bird, or similar)
    • One vial of elemental water
    • One vial of elemental fire
    • A strand of hair or feather from a willing animal spirit
    • Runestone ink made from crushed herbs sacred to the Nivkh
  • Steps:
    • Prepare the Wood: Sand the chunk of petrified wood into a flat, smooth disk. Make sure it is free from any splinters or rough edges.
    • Bone Inlay: Carefully carve small sockets into the wood and place the animal bones in them. Use a thin mixture of elemental water and a drop of elemental fire to secure them.
    • Runes and Glyphs: Use the runestone ink to inscribe the perimeter of the disk with Nivkh glyphs that correspond to protection, guidance, and spiritual connection.
    • Animal Spirit Connection: Place the strand of hair or feather in the center of the disk. Perform a ritual chant to invite the animal spirit into the amulet, securing the strand with a drop of elemental fire and elemental water.
    • Final Blessing: Hold the amulet aloft and speak a closing incantation to seal the magic and solidify the connection between the item and the spiritual realm.
    • Rest: Allow the amulet to rest overnight under the moonlight to soak up celestial energies.
    • Activation: The following morning, perform a short ritual to awaken the animal spirits in the amulet, completing its transformation into the Animal Spirit 27 of the Absentee.

The crafting of this item is deeply spiritual and should be done with the utmost care to maintain a harmonious balance between all elements involved.
