Card Name: Lulled by Success
Effect: Your recent victories have made you complacent, causing you to underestimate your current challenge. You suffer a -2 penalty to all attack rolls for the next two turns as your overconfidence dulls your edge. Additionally, one enemy of the Game Master’s choice within range gains a +2 bonus to their next attack against you, taking advantage of your lack of vigilance.
Card Name: Comfortable Misstep
Effect: Feeling too comfortable in your surroundings, you make a critical error. You automatically miss your next attack and are forced to move 10 feet in a random direction, as you stumble or misjudge the situation. If this movement places you within 5 feet of an enemy, they may make an opportunity attack against you with advantage.
Card Name: False Security
Effect: The sense of security you’ve felt has made you careless. You lose your next action as you are caught off-guard by an unexpected threat. During this time, an ally within 15 feet must make a Wisdom saving throw or also become complacent, suffering disadvantage on their next saving throw as they, too, let their guard down.
Green Deck (Crit Cards)
Card Name: Sharpened Focus
Effect: Realizing the danger of complacency, you refocus with renewed intensity. You gain advantage on your next attack roll and deal an additional 1d6 damage if the attack hits. Additionally, one ally within 20 feet of you may immediately reroll a failed saving throw as your sharp focus inspires them to overcome their own lapse in attention.
Card Name: Vigilant Awareness
Effect: Your awareness of the dangers of complacency heightens your senses. For the next three turns, you gain a +2 bonus to all perception and insight checks. Additionally, one enemy within sight must make a Dexterity saving throw or have their movement speed halved for the next turn as they struggle to evade your newly focused gaze.
Card Name: Proactive Defense
Effect: Rejecting complacency, you adopt a more proactive stance. You and one ally within 15 feet each gain a +2 bonus to armor class for the next two turns, as your defensive measures become more calculated and deliberate. If either of you successfully avoids an attack during this time, you may make an immediate counterattack with a +1 bonus to hit, seizing the moment of your enemy’s misstep.
