compassion

Red Deck (Failure Cards)

    Card Name: Misplaced Compassion

Effect: Your compassion causes hesitation at a crucial moment. As you second-guess your actions, an enemy seizes the opportunity. You automatically miss your next attack, and one enemy of the Game Master’s choice gains advantage on their next attack against you or an ally as they exploit your moment of doubt. Your empathy, while well-intentioned, leaves you vulnerable in the heat of battle.

    Card Name: Softened Heart

Effect: The sight of a wounded foe stirs your compassion, weakening your resolve to strike them down. You suffer a -2 penalty to your next attack roll as you struggle with the moral implications of your actions. Additionally, one ally within 20 feet becomes distracted by your hesitation, losing 1d4 from their next saving throw as they, too, are affected by the emotional conflict.

    Card Name: Mercy Misguided

Effect: In an attempt to show mercy, you leave yourself open to retaliation. You must skip your next attack to instead offer a parley or mercy to your enemy. The enemy, however, takes advantage of this gesture and gains a +2 bonus to their next attack roll against you or an ally. Your compassion, while noble, leads to an immediate and dangerous consequence.

Green Deck (Crit Cards)

    Card Name: Healing Touch

Effect: Your compassion channels healing energy to yourself or an ally. You or one ally within 15 feet regains 1d8 hit points as your caring nature manifests as a restorative force. The healing also grants the target advantage on their next saving throw, as they feel renewed and protected by your compassionate presence.

    Card Name: Empathic Bond

Effect: Your deep compassion for your allies strengthens the connection between you. For the next two turns, you and one ally within 20 feet gain a +2 bonus to armor class as your bond shields each other from harm. Additionally, if either of you takes damage during this time, the other can immediately make an attack with a +2 bonus to the attack roll, driven by the desire to protect.

    Card Name: Soothing Presence

Effect: Your compassion emanates as a calming aura that soothes the minds of your allies and unnerves your enemies. All allies within 20 feet gain advantage on saving throws against fear and charm effects for the next three turns. Additionally, one enemy within range must make a Wisdom saving throw or have disadvantage on their next attack, as the soothing aura disrupts their focus and aggression.
